This diagram shows the placement
of awards and emblems on the right pocket.
National Summertime Pack Award:
is given to Scouts and Leaders
who attend at least three Pack activities during the summer months. Each year
the Pack Committee determines the activities and the number of activities a
Scout must attend to earn this pin.
Progress Towards Ranks Award:
is given to Scouts as they strive
to earn the Wolf badge or Bear badge. As they complete 3 achievements towards
the rank badge they will receive 1 bead to add to the award. They will have
all 4 beads upon completion of the 12 requirements of the rank badge. Wolf
candidates earn yellow beads and Bear candidates earn red beads. Scouts who
have earned the Wolf badge the previous year may continue to display the
yellow beads as they earn beads for the Bear trail.
Beads are typically awarded by
the Den Leader during a regular Den meeting. The purpose of this award is to
encourage and display the progress the Scout has made as they progress through
the requirements to receive the rank badge.
