Project Description

:

RAPID, developed by the Emirates Group to handle the ever increasing complexity of airline revenue accounting functions, is a sophisticated system designed to process both passenger and cargo documents rapidly and efficiently.

RAPID is a 'first coupon' based data capture system, so all relevant data is entered for the entire document once only from the first coupon that hits the system. RAPID provides the core information feed for the airline commercial manager's decision support system.

Unique features of RAPID include:

. Automatic proration of documents fully closed to host carrier,

. Automatic financial accounting of sales, refunds, flown up-lifts and outward billing,

. Recognition of conjunction and re-issue documents.

Major modules of RAPID are:

Stock control

. Ensures continuous comprehensive audit of ticket stock, Sales and Re-funds

. Multiple forms of settlement (Cash, CC, Credit, Exchange, Barter)

. Fare matching module handles IATA and airline specific fares.

. Rate vetting for cargo handles TACT and airline specific rates.

Flown up-lifts

. Provides flown based payments (override commissions, flown incentive schemes, royalty or pool agreements).

. Cargo up-lift module handles charge collect, transfer manifest, charge correction advice, part shipments and dynamic route changes.

Interline Billing

. Automatically generates outward billing invoices,

. All ICH standard forms supported.

. Generates variations for currency rate fluctuations,

. Captures inward billing information for adjustment accounting

Role

:

Involved in development of Cargo Proration Integration module, The Worklist and Night Processing module for BA and the phase 1 of Inward Billing module.
