The hauntingly blue eyes of the Wizzard
Seared into the soul of the maiden
Leaving a magical mark
Unbeknownst to her virginal soul.
The Wizzard walked away
Verbally expressing nothing
Yet the maiden's heart
Responded to the silent call of the Wizzard
What magical thing had he done to her?
Sleep became to the maiden
A sea of dreams
Crashing in upon her...like waves
Emotion upon emotion
Some distinguishingable
Some new and untried
Each bringing with it the rembrance
Of the Wizzard's Eyes
The Wizzard
Knowing he had touched the maiden's soul
Shared each dream
Manipulating the heart of the maiden
Calling her to his side...
Silently
The night's become a symmetry of shadows and dreams,
The Wizzard taking the Maiden on voyages;
To places long forgotten,
Places never seen by human eyes.
The Maiden, touched by the visions,
Seen only through the Wizzard's Eyes.
Begins to merge...her soul with his.
Unknowingly becoming something,
Even the Wizzard did not understand.
Their journey's...once controlled by the Wizzard,
Now become a blending of the Maiden's dreams,
And the Wizzard's past.
Until the silent exchange,
Transforms them into a time that never was,
A place from which even the Wizzard knows no escape.
Trapped within the transformation,
The Wizzard realizes the Maiden no longer sees through his eyes,
But rather he sees through hers.
And the silent exchange...becomes a mystical song.
Enraptured by her spell,
The Wizzard releases his powers to the wind.
The Maiden swept along by the wind and the song...disappears;
Into a glowing light.
The Wizzard left alone with his dreams,
Awakens to find himself not at the Maiden's side,
But standing at the edge of the light,
No longer a mystical being,
Rather...just a man...
Forever haunted by her mystical song.
"Listen not with the eyes of a Wizzard my love,
But with the heart of a man."
The maiden whispers.
"The magic exists still....
But it is left alone for you to find."
Remembering a warning of long ago,
Never fall in love with a mortal!
The man stands at the edge of the light,
Enraged with sorrow of what will never be,
And haunted by the beauty of a song...
"Listen with the heart of a man..."
Echoes in his ears,
The meaning lost.
Replaced by confusion and dispair.
"I have shown you magical things!
I have shared with you my dreams!
I have cast my powers into the wind!
What more must I do?"
Screams the man.
And again the answer...
"Listen with the heart of a man..."
The man...sobbing silenced from exhaustion,
Sits near the edge of the light.
"I have nothing left to sacrifice,"
He whispers.
He rises, and walks slowly into the light,
Ready to leave behind even mortality itself.
And...
As he enters the light...
He hears the mystical song,
Coming ever closer,
Suddenly the touch of a hand,
And the Wizzard's powers are released unto the universe.
As both the Maiden and the Man step from the light.
Mortals...flesh and blood.
The light dims...
The song fades...
And a new journey begins.
