Pegasus Farms!! A Dream..

Wish List

As we begin to actually build our horseback riding program, we will list the non~spoilable items such as bridles, blankets, halters, brushes, buckets, etc.., that will be necessary to run our stable. Donated items will help us provide our horseback riding at a minimal cost and eventually at no cost to persons with disabilities.

Regarding the size of the stable, ideally our intentions are to start out with a small program until we can see how things are going to go with it. The current goal is to start out with a combination of three horses and ponies of different sizes and girths to accommodate the fact that our initial riders will also come in all shapes and sizes. The tallest horse would still have to be short enough that the side walkers would not get tired or cramped up from having to hold their arms up over their shoulders for any length of time.

Side by side with sound health, the temperament of the animals that will be chosen for the stable is the biggest concern in the beginning. As long as a prospective animal does not shy or show aggression when approached, the necessary "bomb~proof" quality will come over time with good, solid, consistent training. More on that later when the time finally comes.

Basically we hope to have a working farm that provides therapeutic horseback riding along with various other related forms of animal interaction for persons with disabilities. Please see our Mission Statement for a more indepth overview of our ideals. Other pages that may provide information of interest can be found on our About Us and To Do List pages. If you have any other questions that have not been answered here on the Pegasus Farms!! website, feel free to contact us and ask away..
