Release: Ballads By The Bay 2
                                            Label: Strait Jacket Records
Artists: Shooting Blanks, October Myst, Point Of You, Left Right Out, Filmore, Singleton, Famous By

The Specs, and the late Sol-wise.

This being the second local compilation from independent label Strait Jacket Records , most of us were

pretty sure we knew what they had in stall for us... we were so wrong.
With some familiar bands from the first instalment such as Famous By Association and Left Right Out

this release also doubles of proof of how much bands evolve over a short period of time.
From the opening track Loners With Boners - Step Outside all the way to the last track Epik - Fond

Farewell, you're taken on a journey through what is the amazing local talent that hails from the suburbs

of South-East Melbourne. In all honesty, this CD needs to be heard to be believed, with it's incredible

                                            content.
Newcomers Filmore make an huge appearance with their two tracks showing off their highly mastered

guitar skills and unique writing style. Along side hardcore band Hijack The Hearse and local veterans

Left Right Out this CD shows the scenes diversity. With the 3 most listened to bands on the CD being

Shooting Blanks, October Myst, and Point Of You it shows which bands have more fans than others,

but that doesn't stop anyone listening to the other tracks.
You know what? I'm going to stop this review because it is impossible to find the words for it. All I can

do is offer you all this simple advice: If you do not have this CD, your missing out on one of the best

musical offerings you will hear this year... or any year. So get out there and buy it while you can.
