A view of the open fridge at the end of fermentation.
This fridge has its chiller at the top. I have removed all of the enclosure stuff that made it look like a freezer cabinet. As it was fairly humid when I brewed that batch you can see the ice build up on the chiller.
The fermentor is plastic, holds about 66 litres of beer allowing for some head space. You can see that the yeast has settled out nicely on this ferment. It usually looks like that after 4 days or so if I brew an ale. The large amount of final yeast slurry confirms that the growth stage went well !
You can see the one temperature probe entering the thermocouple pocket on the right side of the fermentor. It measures the beer temperature right in the middle of the fermentor.
I also don't take chances with those little supports either side of the fridge, choosing instead to have a backup set of wooden blocks supporting the fermentor.
Inside of the fridge door you can see a hole that I cut in the insulation to allow for the draught tap to be connected.
