UK Hauntings

A collection of Peter Devo-Butlers'  favourite UK hauntings.

Tower of London

Possibly one of the most haunted places on earth!

The ghosts of Anne Bolyn, Sir Walter Raleigh and even a bear have been seen at this notorious place, once known as Palantine Castle.

Windsor Castle

The silent form of Elizabeth the First haunts the library here, while her father Henry the Eighth prefers walking the battlements.

Ghostly cavaliers were spotted by a night-patrol policeman and Herne the Hunter haunts Windsor Great Park.

Borley Rectory

Destroyed by fire in the 1930's, this Essex house was described as 'the most haunted house in England'.

Is Chingle Hall the Borley Rectory of today?

Borley Church

Peter Underwood recorded some chilling sounds in this ancient building.

Another haunted church was Langenhoe Church on the Essex Marshes (no picture available yet). This church has since been demolished. A ghostly, veiled woman - later found out to be a woman called Mary Felicity - was known to walk in the churchyard......and through one of the church walls!
