The Wedding Countdown

Pryce and Starr Engagement Photo

Note from the Webferret: This story was posted before the wedding actually took place on January 29, 1997. I've left it as is to maintain the humorous aspect of the preparations!

Well now, the time is really beginning to grow short for Mom and Dad! They are getting married on January 29th, and along with the new year came the realization that there was less than a month until the wedding!

You should see them scurrying around here! They've got so much to do, and only a little time to do it in. Mom keeps griping that she needs to lose more weight, and Dad says that she is beautiful just as she is. Isn't that sweet! That's one of the many reasons Mom loves him so much.

Aunt Kerri and Cousin Mischief are getting ready for their move back to Kentucky. It started out that they were just going to come for the wedding, but the more Aunt Kerri thought about it the more she wanted to come back to stay. Mom is very happy that she is coming home; she misses her alot. It's been four years since they've seen each other, and I know the hugs and tears will be plenty when she finally arrives. And the best part about it is that Aunt Kerri is going to be Mom's Maid of Honor! I know they have spent many, many hours on the phone for the last four months preparing for the wedding, but now they will be able to complete the plans together. Mom is starting to get a little nervous, and she really likes the idea of having Aunt Kerri here to help her out and reassure her that everything will be just fine. They are so close, and its going to make me very happy to see them back together again, like they should be! It's gonna be the BEST gift Mom will receive!

All the really important plans have been made; now there are just so many little details that remain to be worked out. I overheard Uncle John tell Mom that if tradition held true, her and Dad were going to have a wonderful marriage because the wedding preparations were going so rough! Poor Mom and Dad! It seems like just as they get one problem solved, two more pop up! Personally, I know the wedding will be beautiful. Mom and Dad belong together and nothing else really matters, but they want everything to be perfect. I know it makes Mom crazy sometimes because I'm home while Dad is at work and I hear her talking to herself. Sometimes she talks to me about it all, and I smile and nuzzle her cheek. I love it when we talk, it makes me feel important! Now that I'm almost one, I've learned how to communicate pretty well. Scully being only eight weeks old still lacks that fine art, so Mom only has me to talk to when everyone else is gone. I'll teach Scully when she gets a little older, and then we can all talk together!

So the countdown continues... as of the posting of this page it's 27 days and counting. I have total faith that everything will work out just perfectly. Mom will be a beautiful Bride, and Dad will be the most handsome Groom there ever was! Aunt Kerri will be a dazzling Maid of Honor, Jessica will be a gorgeous Bride's Maid and Nicki will be a little angel of a Flower Girl. And me, well I'll be the one that keeps nuzzling Mom's cheek and letting her know how much I love her. Our little family will be complete on January 29th, and no one will be happier than me to see it happen. I love them all very much, and I want us to be together always.

I would like to ask you for a favor, if I could. Aunt Kerri, Cousin Mischief and Uncle Mike will be leaving Seattle on Monday, January 13th. Please remember them in your prayers so that they may have safe travels and arrive securely home to their family.
