Thanksgiving Thoughts![]() I don't know about where you live, but in Seattle it is FALL. You know what that means? All the leaves are falling off the trees. A week ago everything here looked like it was on fire because the trees were all red, orange and yellow. Now the trees are pretty bare and all the leaves are on the ground. This is pretty cool because they make some really great crunchy noises when you walk on them... especially when you have four feet. We've been warned that it is gonna be a long, cold winter. Guess that means it's time for me to grab my blankets and head for my bed and get a lot of sleep and hope Mom doesn't forget to pay the heating bill.
Before I forget....I want to congratulate Mr. Clinton for winning a second term in office. I'm not too upset about this. Mr. Clinton is a good man, and just think...it could be worse...you could have one of those other two guys in the White House. I also want to thank everyone who supported me in my campaign. Maybe I should start out on a local level...Hmmmmmm, Governor Mischief sounds ALMOST as good as President Mischief. Now it's time to set our sights for the most wonderful time of the year. Yep, Christmas is only about a month away. I've been watching TV and there are a lot of commercials out there geared towards kids and adults, telling them what they should want for Christmas. I haven't seen any telling me what I should want. But that's okay, because I can decide for myself. I need a new blanket for my bed.....I chewed a big hole in the one I have; and I would love to have some PCV tubing to run play in. I was gonna ask for a little brother or sister to play with, but I just got one of each. Oh, wow....I have to tell you about them. They are so cute. I hope I have time to make them a page of their own soon. Mom heard about this place close to where she works that catches ferel cats. The adults get neutered (just thinking about that word makes me shiver) and if they can't be tamed down, they eventually get released back to where they were trapped. But the kittens are worked with til they tame down and then are put up for adoption. One night, Mom came home from work late and she had this ball of fur in her arms. That kid hissed and spit a lot at first. I tried to make friends with him, but he kept running away. He was really scared of me. Mom told me his name was Kasey and he was here just to see if she could tame him down. I don't know what she was gonna do if she couldn't. For about a week, Mom and Mike held that kitten and talked to him constantly. I was beginning to worry that they had forgotten about me. Kasey was so little. He was only 3 months old and I know he was scared. In only a couple of days he was starting to get friendlier. When Mike held me up to him he didn't his anymore. Mom and Mike were so patient with him and they were starting to make progress. Then one morning Mom got a phone call early in the morning that really upset her. She was on the phone a lot and the next thing I knew Mom said was flying to Phoenix. I don't know where Phoenix is, and I'm not exactly sure what flying is (except what I see on TV) but I know Mom hates it and was really scared. But I also knew that it had to be really important for Mom if she was flying. Mom kept using the words "tragic" and "shock" and she cried a lot. I finally figured out that my Uncle Ron had died and Mom was going to be with her family. I missed her a lot while she was gone. Mike stayed to take care of all of us, but the place just wasn't the same without Mom. That is the first time since I came to live with Mom that she had to go away. I don't like it at all. Kasey didn't like it either. He came over and laid beside my cage and told me he was just getting use to being here and he liked Mom and he wondered why she left him. I took it upon myself to explain what happened. He was really confused, but I assured him that Mom would be home soon. We spent a lot of time talking while Mom was gone and we became friends. Mom got back on a Saturday late in the afternoon and I could tell she was very tired. But still she couldn't wait to take me out of my cage and cuddle me. I know it was only a few days, but it seemed like forever. Then Kasey realized Mom was home. He came running out of the bedroom and jumped up on Mom and cuddled and purred. I don't want to take all the credit, but I think our talks did some good. Now he is the perfect little brother. He is so well behaved and loves to cuddle and purr. Then one night Mom went back to the pet store to get some food for Kasey. Well, I'll be darned if she didn't bring home Kasey's sister. She is so cute. But she is still very shy and spooky. She doesn't like me too much yet, but I will give her time. I don't think Mike was real thrilled with the idea at first, but then he spent the day with her and fell in love. She doesn't have a real name yet because Mom doesn't really like the name she was given at the pet store. They called her Corrina - Cori for short. Mom says she just doesn't look like a "Cori". She's very sweet, feminine and gentle. I'm gonna get a picture on here just as soon as Mom gets them back. HEY, I just got an idea. Maybe all my friends here on the Internet could help me and Mom name my little sister. But it has to be a SPECIAL name! If you want make a suggestion all you gotta do is me. We aren't gonna give out any prizes or anything, but if you have a page we certainly will link to you!!!!! NOTE: I am happy to announce my little sister has a name. As it turns out we got some great suggestions, but we came up with this one on our own. Kasey is named for Mom because her initials are K.C. My sister is kinda named for Mom too. Her name is Kera. Be sure to keep your eyes open, because Kasey and Kera have convinced me to let them have a page here. They really are so cute. I think you will like them as much as I do. The final thought I want to pass along is this. November is the month of Thanksgiving. Last year I was still just a baby and I didn't understand what it meant. Now I know it is the time you set aside to remember what you are thankful for in your life. I'm thankful for:
