Analysis of a current issue           25 %
Final Paper                                    40 %

One part of the participation score is class attendance. Students who attend less then 11 classes will get a penalty on their particpation score. The second part of the participation score is participation during class (asking questions, participation in groupworks and discussion). The third and major part of the participation score is the grading of the regular class assignments.

The analysis of a current issue is a written task 700 -1400 words, TNR, size 12 about a current European issue. It can be connected to the country that you are working about during the term, but does not have to be that way. The analysis is due on the 10th of April 2008 (printed or via email).

The final paper should be a deep analyisis of a topic connected to the input of the class. The topic has to be agreed on between student and lecturers. The paper has to have 2500-4000 words, TNR, size 12 and is due Monday 16 June 2008, 12.00 WIB. Please submit in print at Jurusan HI.

Class Rules

Time managment: Both lecturers and students are allowed to be 15 minutes late to class. If the lecturer doesn't arrive within 15 minutes after the beginning, the lecture is post-poned to the next regularly scheduled date or to an extra date agreed upon with the students. Students arriving later than 15 minutes after the beginning of class will get a penalty regarding their attendance and participation scores.

Cellphones: Both lecturers and students have to keep there cellphones off during class.
