"Dawn service on the beach at Currumbin beneath Elephant Rock typefied what the Australian Veterans faced when they landed at Gallipoli at dawn, 25th April, 1915.  Over 400 veterans were on parade with over 2,000 people attending.

Later at 11am, we marched a quarter mile to our local RSL Cenotaph for the main service.  All around the country and in many parts of the world, similar services took place.  It is the one day in the year when the whole country of Australia stops to remember the fallen."
