"Oh my God!" Karrie hissed, also seeing N Sync, "stop dancing right now! That's N Sync coming over here!"
"The one with the guy that Beth told off?" Tiana asked, an interested expression on her face as she stopped dancing.
"Yeah." Karrie said proudly. Beth only groaned again. Celeste and Ariel studied the guys.
"The curly blond one's cute." Ariel said, studying Justin. They'd only vaguely heard of N Sync because they preferred alternative music.
"Nah. The brown-haired one is. The one with the blue eyes." Celeste argued. "No, wait, the other blond guy's cute too." They looked at each other and started to laugh loudly.
"Hey," Justin greeted them, a grin on his face.
"Hi." Ariel said, smiling at him. "Aren't you Justin Timberlake?"
The sparkle in his eyes dimmed when she said his name. "Yeah."
"Oh." She said, uninterested. "These are my friends, Celeste, Tiana, Beth, and Karrie." She introduced them.
"Cool." Joey commented, greeting them. Only JC and Beth refused to meet each other's eyes.
"Nice dance you were doing." Chris teased. Tiana blushed while Beth and Ariel began to hoot with laughter.
"What are you guys doing here at 6 flags?" Karrie asked them. "Aren't you scared that someone will spot you?" Her eyes seemed a bit nervous, and JC felt sorry he had snapped at her.
"We're just here to hang out," He answered, "and I'm really sorry I yelled at you earlier."
"Oh, that's okay, right Beth?" She asked the girl who had angrily yelled at JC.
"Yeah." Beth murmured, now looking at him.
"Oh yeah, we're also here to see JC's internet girlfriend," Chris teased. JC stared daggers at him.
"What a coincidence!" Celeste said lightly, "we're here to see Beth's internet lover." Beth and JC's eyes both widened with realization.
"You!" They both yelled, pointing at each other.
"I thought you said your name was Josh!" She yelled at him angrily.
"It is Josh! Most people just call me JC!" He shot back.
"Ok, kids, calm down." Lance interrupted, "At least now you've met, so let's just finish the rest of the rides?" Beth and JC both reluctantly looked away from each other and nodded at him.
"Why don't you guys go on ahead and save us a place on the Superman ride?" Ariel suggested, "We'll be right there." The guys agreed and left.
"Oh my God!" Tiana said excitedly. "Bethie, your guy's a hunk!"
"Whatever…. he's not my guy!" She insisted.
"But he is cute!" Ariel told her, linking arms. "Let's go? We don’t want to keep those five gorgeous guys waiting."
"Well what do you know, JC's girl is the one who yelled at him." Chris said, laughing.
"Yeah, but they were all pretty fine." Justin added.
"Yeah." All of the guys, except JC, answered in agreement. JC couldn't believe this, he'd just made a fool of himself in front of her. He'd inexcusably yelled at her little cousin, and then gotten yelled at himself by her.
The girls came up a few moments later, Beth with a smile on her face. Celeste had told her a joke on the way and she had been laughing.
"We're here!" Karrie announced.
"Here, kid," Celeste said, handing her a soda. Karrie took it and popped open the top. Justin watched with interest.
"I bet you I can drink one of those faster than you can." He said, his eyes sparkling mischievously.
"I bet you can't" Karrie countered.
Ariel laughed "I bet I can kick both of your butts!" she told them. "Celeste, hand 'em over!" Celeste promptly handed Justin and Ariel a can each, wanting to see them do this.
"Ready…. Set …. Go!" Tiana yelled, taking on the role as the referee. All three of them began to guzzle their drinks, everyone else watching with bemused expressions on their faces.
"Done!" Karrie yelled triumphantly, holding her empty can up in the air victoriously.
"No fair!" Justin pouted. "Man, I feel sick." He said, clutching his stomach.
"Oh shut up, sore loser." Ariel teased. The ride began to move up more quickly. Beth watched Karrie and Ariel talk animatedly to Justin with a small smile on her face. Karrie was usually so shy, but now she was talking as if she had known the guys of N Sync her entire life. JC stood next to her quietly, but she was well aware of his presence.
"Look, Beth," He said, "I'm really sorry about snapping at your little cousin."
Beth glanced up at him, her eyes full of sympathy. "Well, I can understand why, with the kind of 'work' you have." She told him. "I'm sorry too for yelling at you."
"Now, I deserved that," He said, grinning. "Let's say we start over?"
"Sure. But wait, what do you want me to call you? JC or Josh?" She asked.
"Whatever you want," He answered.
"I'll call you Josh," She decided. They shook hands.
Beth groaned when she saw the guy she had told off earlier heading towards them with the rest of his friends. She knew they were from N Sync because Karrie absolutely adored them, and had pictures posted in her room when Beth came to visit her.
"Oh my God!" Karrie hissed, also seeing N Sync, "stop dancing right now! That's N Sync coming over here!"
