Prior to the beginning, there was nothing
but the primeval, formless ocean.

Out of nothing, a being created itself, which possessed within itself the male and female principles.

The male and female principles separated (into sky and earth).

Sky and Earth

engendered the cosmic deities

by maintaining a connection;

however, the Sun and Moon were regarded

as the eyes of the sky-god.
