The
Almaroons and Locathahs are both water-dwelling races, so it is no
wonder that they became strong allies. These two races have lived in
harmony together now for thousands of years. The 3 major cities located
on the northern part of their island are as much underwater as above.
The island is covered by moderately dense jungle which becomes
impossibly thick as one travels south into uninhabited regions.
The
Almaroons have long held to a policy of neutrality, and thus have been
able to act as the trade middleman between two rival nations (e.g.
Jinatra and Selentia). These rich merchants both work as governmental
port authorities and as private sailors looking to resell goods in
various ports of eastern Qur-tayn. Bronze Dragons also frequently get
their claws into this kind of trading, and for this reason, no one would
ever dare attack an Almaroon ship.
Almarus,
the Wave and Wind, is the patron deity of Almaroon and is
accepted by both the Bronze Dragons and Locathahs. Neither
are incredibly pious people, but those involved in trade
are sure to say prayers in his name and employ priests of
the Church of Almaroon.
