Bull Centaur , created by Kamax de-Orilg, author of The Minotaur Isles.
Same ingredients as a Minotaur except this one is in centaurian fashion. Having a torso of a stocky man or woman and a body of a bull. In Greek myth it was known as the Bucentaur.
----------
Bull Centaurs are stocky powerful beast men related to Minotaurs only by their beastly roots. They are large heavy set creatures, Ogres keep a fair distance most of the time instead of trying to tackle a Bull Centaur. Similar to how some Dragons avoid the trouble of crossing a Griffon.
Bull Centaur society operates much like ancient Sparta, being structured towards its military. All members of a village/city are enlisted in the military at some point on their lives, only some though serve as permanent warriors. Some say they were bred out of war, due to their geared society. Bull Centaurs though do not actively seek out peoples to war on, they are peaceful and keep to themselves. Their militaristic behavior is purely for defense of their territories.
Bull Centaurs are firm believers of honor and to commit a crime could mean death depending on what a ruling council judges. Ruling councils are made up of the most honorable house leaders usually seven in number, called Nammars. The top house is also the village or cities ruler named the Polemar. The Polemar leads he ruling council as well as the village or city in matters of war. An individuals honor is maintained by being a lawful member of the society. Honor is gained by being among those who are victorious over their intruders or enemies. A Bull Centaur always represents his/her house's honor and must help maintain or increase it. House or tribes are the basic unit in Bull Centaur society, they are made up of related members. If ever a house member tarnishes his/her house's honor, the other house members loose respect for that member. House's have been known to cast out family members.
Bull Centaurs hold Olympic style games (feats of strength, weapon skill, etc), once every four months.  Where every house competes on friendly terms with each other. This has no bearing on honor in society, it bring all the houses together in celebration and sport. Though it is not said outright the games are also where dishonored members attempt to gain their families respect again. Their victories here although meager may persuade their house to fully accept them again.
One month after the games there are more serious games, for those who wish to challenge another house on some allegation. This allegation could be one of an unnoticed or unproved crime against a house or one of honor. If you felt or was wronged by another you could challenge them. If they back out, they admit to being wrong and weak in comparison (resulting in a loss of honor) but if they fight then it is battle to see who is right (victors gain honor due to being right). If the challenger is right then his confidence will be greater and thus he will win over the challenged and things are put right. The loser of such a battle brings a fair amount is dishonor on the whole house in the eyes of the rest of the village or city. If either combatant yields they prove themselves wrong and a challenger is branded a liar and cast out of the village or city, while the challenged is found guilty and has his/her tail cut off. Such battles are very rare, since they demand the whole house to back the challenger and since every other house is law abiding. Also some house when provided with ample proof against on of their members willingly give that member up. It is important to note that females and males are equals in Bull Centaur society.
A sign of great honor for a Bull Centaur is the growth of horns, it symbolizes hope and courage. These Bull Centaurs are likely to become leaders in the village or city.
Bull Centaurs rarely communicate with other races, mostly at their borders telling them to move along or be trampled. Centaurs are one of two races allowed inside their territories. They are quite different in their appearance and beliefs but none the less they are allies. They do not live together though due to different beliefs but have been known to come together in times of need, like war.
Aside from Centaurs only non savage and lawful Minotaurs are granted entry they are valued friends and do sometimes take up residence among Bull Centaurs. Together they share a sort of blood bond, this bond runs deep and those Bull Centaurs who have been cast out will join up with evil or good Minotaurs.
