Dragons, one of the most ancient races upon Krynn. Created by the Gods to inhabit the world, they were the children of the Gods. Paladine and Takhisis bore the first Dragons (5 in total), which were corrupted by Takhisis. Reorx crafted 5 Dragons out of precious metals for Paladine, who breathed life into them. The first Dragons of Paladine, called Metallic Dragons were all female, and had scales the color of the metal from which Reorx created them; Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Brass. The Dragons of Takhisis, named the Chromatic Dragons were all male, and had scales that were once metallic but now tarnished into simple colors; Red, Blue, Green, Black and White. In order to keep these magnificent beasts alive, Paladine joined with the 5 female Metallic Dragons, as did Takhisis with the Chromatic males. Thus the race of Dragons were created and set upon to Krynn to claim it for themselves. All Dragons are covetous, and horde wealth whether it be coins, gems, jewels, or weapons. Dragons don't believe in having enough treasure. They also sleep upon their treasure mounds, and by the time a Dragon is 10 centuries old they have a vast amount of their horde imbedded in their hide Dragon hide is very resistant to physical attacks thus so is the Dragon, armourers prize Dragons hides above all else. Dragon armor drops 4 levels in armor class from the original armor class of the dragon it was taken from, for instance a a Blue Dragon with an AC of -2, if killed and it's hide made into armor will gives the wearer an AC of 1. A Dragons armor class improves with age.

Copper Dragon, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e Copper in their MM report.
Considered selfish and coincident among the good Dragons, is a correct way to describe these Dragons, even though they are like this they are not evil. Overly pride and thus cocky Coppers like to taunt opponents in battle, hoping their enemy will slip up. This persona goes hand in hand with their tendency to be jokers (they don't like it if you dont laugh), pranksters and riddlers. They like to win and don't make good losers. They are more covetous of wealth than the other Good Dragons, and guard their horde with great ferocity. Since Copper and Red Dragons territories overlap, conflicts do occur. Coppers being much more smaller retreat at first sight of a Red, and try to ambush it or trap it to even the odds.

Brass Dragon, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e Brass in their MM report.
The smallest of the Metallic Dragons, but having the mindset of one thrice its size. These Dragons think like Minotaurs do, in that "might makes right". Even though they believe in this they don't go around picking fights, they prefer talking to fighting and love to socialize with neighbouring beings. One of their neighbours are Blue Dragons whom they detest, due to the Blues size they are at a disadvantage. Brass' will always run if they can when confronted with a Blue (if it is larger), but they may return to fight they a Blue if they can find support.

Chromatic Dragons
Red Dragon, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e Red in their MM report.
The largest and most vicious of the Chromatics, these Dragons are evil to the core and then some. Inhabiting mountainous country, some near active volcanoes, they clash with Copper and Silvers who share the same type of territory. Their hatred for Golds though goes beyond that of normal hatred, this is because they believe Gold Dragons are nearly as superior as themselves. Reds are overly obsessed with wealth and keep track of their hoard with "to the coin" accuracy. Their self confidence is so high that they believe they are the most powerful being on Krynn, in combat this is quite evident as they always charge into a fight never thinking of losing. These crimson leviathans prefer human sacrifices, but will eat anything else they can get their jaws around.

Blue Dragon, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e Blue in their MM report.
Standing out like a fish out of water, the Blue Dragon is easily spotted, but this should be a warning for they are a vicious adversary. They can be more than just vicious since Blues may travel/fight in groups. Smarter than Reds in that these Dragons will retreat if injured badly or all is lost, but this in no way makes them a weak opponent. They prefer to fight from a distance so they can fully utilize they breath weapon; which blasts up to 100'. Blues may live in families for a short time which makes them a real threat to anyone on their territory as they will attack with pure rage upon the trespasser. This vicious attitude is unrelenting on any Brass' near their land. Like all other Dragons they are fond of treasure, but these Dragons are especially particular about sapphires. Due to their coordination in combat and loyalty to Takhisis' cause they make excellent mounts for the Dragonarmies.

Green Dragon, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e Green in their MM report.
Dwelling in the forest and jungles of Krynn, they are the bane of the Elves. Greens and Elves have fought for centuries and they both have a deep hatred for one another, which seems like it will persist forever. These Dragons are very cunning and prefer surprise to all out combat (but will if needs be). Greens are not afraid of any enemy, if one seems too powerful the Green will use its cunning to defeat its opponent. Spells are always used by Greens, they usually have a variety known that are to be used in many sorts of purposes. They love to control, manipulate or enslave creatures to do their bidding.

Black Dragon, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e Black in their MM report.
Temper driven, and independent are two ways to describe these Dragons of the swamps. Black Dragons are by far the worst choice of mount for the Knights of Takhisis as they are so independent making them near impossible to control. Living in the most dismal of places these Dragons detest sunlight and prefer wet environments to dwell in. Not very skilled in combat they will always retreat when overpowered even slightly, because of this they ambush more often then head on fighting. They also use spells quite often in combat.

White Dragon, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e White in their MM report.
Smallest and dimmest of the Chromatic Dragons, White Dragons are more of an arctic semi-intelligent lizard than a Dragon. Being the weakest of Dragonkind they pale in comparison to their bigger brothers, but should not be overlooked as an enemy. Whites are quite skilled hunters are perfectly adapted to their frigid territory, which they share with no other Dragon. Warm temperatures cause these Dragons to become lethargic thus their preferred range of temperature is below freezing. Since Whites use their breath weapon on their food when they hunt, they usually hide uneaten portions in drifts and banks for another time.

Other Dragons
Shadow Dragon
Shadow Dragons are unknown to most, even to those who are experts in knowledge of Dragonkind, this is because these Dragons pass by mostly unseen and leave no trace. Shadow Dragons are sly and devious, and stick to the shadows by day and skirt through the moonlight at night. Like Black Dragons they hate bright light, but do not like total blackness either. For the most part these Dragons are unknown to Krynn.

Chaos Dragon
The coming of Chaos bought Chaos Dragons, these behemeths are practically living fire, burning so hot that they can pass through stone without any resistance. In the Chaos War these Dragons decimated the Metallics and Chromatics, but some were slain in the fight. After the Chaos War, large Dragons similar to these have been reported roaming and wreaking havoc all across Krynn...

Sea Dragon
Odd Dragons when compared to Metallics or Chromatics they are almost a whole new species. These call the seas home and "protect" them with utter viciousness; they attack ships and seaside villages for what seems like pleasure. Others believe they are dimmer than White Dragons and they attack because they are "just an animal", albeit a large one. Scholars of Dragonkind are at a loss for information on them, but Sea Elves are somewhat experts on them since they live their lives within Sea Dragon territory and face them every now and then.

Wyvern
Cousin to the Dragon, these beasts lack the forearms of their relatives, but what they lack they make up for in their specialized tail which is topped with a poisonous stinger. Ranging in color from brown to gray and all shades in between Wyverns are never quite the same looking. On land Wyverns are a deadly opponent as with when they are airborne even though they are a bit clumsy;  more often than not they attack they from air grasping with their talons and stinging with their tail. A Wyvern's hide and bones make poor armour, but some parts of their body are quite useful to spell casters.
