Lizardfolk, go to Gamers.com to see the D&D3e Lizardfolk in their MM report. Some concept art. Lizardfolk are primitive barbaric beings living in tribes who dwell in swamps, marshes, jungles, rainforests, or underwater caverns. They resemble crocodiles with their long maw full of sharp teeth and clawed hands and feet. In combat they fight independantly and will more often then not, assault an enemy head on en mass. When invaded they make great use of snares and other traps. Primarily they fight on foot but do have access to strong mounts like crocodiles, giant crocodiles and greater drakes. Greater drakes serve as excellent mounts for Lizardfolk, their strength, speed, ferocity, ability to fly and air bladder weapons make them very dangerous, only Dragons out match them as mounts. The Barauthar is preferred but some ride Vallochars also. Their are believed to be the result of the evolution of an ancient lizard many thousands of years ago. Lizardfolk society is patriarchial and their leaders are usually the most powerful in the tribe. Males and females are quite similar in appearance to any non-Lizardfolk. Most tribes are very primitive and use only stone and or wood for tools and weapons; and thus are regarded as barbaric in nature. Some tribes though are quite advanced in comparison, using steel tools or weapons of their own make. Some of these technologically advanced Lizardfolk have migrated together to form villages of their own. Over time these Lizardfolk have evolved somewhat and are a little different from other Lizardfolk. These differences include, a more upright posture, broader shoulders and the use of metal weapons and tools (see concept art link above). Lizardfolk have been known to serve under Dragons or Nagas and form alliances with Locathah. All Lizardfolk are are born from eggs and are omnivorous (some though have a taste for human flesh and prefer it over all else). Half Dragons are more common among Lizardfolk than most other races due to their "draconic" heritage and relationship with Dragons. Troglodytes are warlike reptilian creatures who love to raid humanoids for steel items and to eat their flesh. They fight in overwhemling numbers and use little strategy if any. If ever out numbered or beaten they know enough to retreat and use their chameleon like ability to hide. Troglodytes wait until dark to raid, when their excellent darkvision gives them a distinct advantage. They make their lairs underground or in mountains, usually near humanoid villages or towns. In these lairs the toughest Troglodyte rules. All Troglodytes value steel above all else since they can't make it themselves. Like reptiles their young come ffrom eggs.
