Mithas and Kothas were once on the same land mass, but were separated during the Catacylsm; the firey moutain sent by the gods on Istar. Thus the two empires became separated by water into independant islands. The northern region of the land mass, Karthay was also spilt off as was Saifhum. All of the Blood Sea Isles surround the Blood Sea where a great malestrom swirls down to the ruins of Istar. Southeast of the Blood Sea are the Misty Isles Straits (Dragon Isles), home to Dragons and Irda. This island chain seems to be strangely protected by magic.
Saifhum and Karthay are sparsely populated by sea barbarians, and probably
other races unknown to most.
Mithas and Kothas lie north and south of eachother. Mithas, has on its eastern side the
Arkon Mountains, which have four active volcanoes present on them. The islands volcanic activity goes hand in hand with the earthquakes that plague it from time to time. Kothas on the otherhand has no tectonic forces at work on it like Mithas, but is noted for its barreness. Vegatation of any kind is for the whole, scarce on Kothas.
The Kazelati Isles, which was the piece of land on the pre-cataclysmic Minotaur Empire, were some how moved so far east that they became lost islands. Present day this island chain lies approxiamately due east from the strait between Mithas and Kothas.
