He has a wide brimmed straw hat that is frayed on one side. Old lines crawl across his weathered almost leathery sun dark face. Possessions: A quarterstaff and a few changes of clothes are the bulk of his belongings. He has a slat-ribbed plowhorse named Horse. He also has a poorly made short sword he aquired when a bandit took him for a helpless old man. And old pipe some worn leather boots and his wits account for the rest of his belongings.

Extra: Ean was born and grew up in Ghealdan, when he was nearly twenty he moved to the northern lands of Altara where the farmlands were plentiful and the girl he'd fallen in love with was from. They lived a long while happy as they could be and she bore him three children, two sons and a daughter. Everything was fine until the Seanchan invaded. For the most part after they came through nothing changed, they just promised to swear some oath about waiting and obeying or some such and went on with their lives. As it turns out the Seanchan have a fierce sense of pride. Once while Ean way away for a few days at market, a patrolling raken set down on his farm. There was a der Sul'dam traveling with the raken scoping the lands and showing their conquest off to her damane. Ean's wife Clara tried to be as gracious as she could but their son Bin, an eight year old lad, got caught snickering and sharing jokes about the funny lady's clothes. When he was harshly reprimanded for it he spat on her skirts. The der Sul'dam exploded in a fury of indignance and demanded that the impertinence be punished. The family was wholly killed and the farm burned. When Ean returned he found only ashes and corpses. He spent several weeks mourning his family and seeing them properly buried. When he finally worked up the nerve to go back to the town where he'd been when it all happened he found out about the Sul'dam's rampage. When asked if he try to get revenge Ean only responded solemnly, "no my family is dead and more killing wouldn't bring them back any more than me wishing it were true. But I'll be a light-blinded fool if I'm to stay around here." So he left.
