Character Name: Kerath, son of Jeland, son of Darien
Gender: Male
Age: 127
Birthplace: Stedding Chanti
Current Whereabouts: Rhuidean
Position/Profession: Scholar and sometime stone mason
Physical Description: 9’6” in height. He has dark
brown hair, black eyes the size of teacups, a nose
that takes up half his face, and tufted ears. His
voice is the typical Ogier bass.
Personality: He is a scholar, devoted to knowledge, he
is long-winded and (like most Ogier) seems to think
that a story needs two or three hundred years of
background to be understood. Considered by many
humans to very cautious and delibrate, he is a fine,
upstanding young Ogier.
Possessions: Ogier-sized quarterstaff, several dozen
books (on various topics), knee-length coat,
Ogier-sized pen+ and ink set, a large notebook.
Major Skill: Stone Masonry
Minor Skill: Knowledge
Extra: Born in Stedding Chanti, Kerath was a bright
young pupil whom the Elders kept a close eye on. He
quickly picked up anything he was showed, learning
languages (he can read, write, and speak Ogier,
Trolloc, the Comman Tongue, and the Old Tongue with
varying degrees of fluency), philosophy, and history
were a snap. Some thought that to be so quick, he
must be very hasty. There was a great deal of
surprise when he showed himself to be as cautious as
any Elder.
Kareth became a stone mason to help support his
Stedding. In thirty years of masonry Kareth has seen
nearly every large city in the Borderlands and a few
of the great cities (Cairhien, Camelyn, and Illian).
In his youth, he did some trading with the Aiel who
came to the Stedding, he was fascinated by the odd
warriors. His mother is still looking for a wife for
him, but has someone in mind. When Rand al’Thor sent
to the Stedding for Ogier stone masons to help rebuild
Rhuidean, Kareth jumped at the chance.
Currently working in Rhuidean, he is among the Ogier
stone masons rebuilding the city.
