Mark Jowett  With a keen interest in theatre since he was eight, Mark hopes to retain it until he reaches a ripe age. He also has a passion for cinema, travel, cookery, painting and writing. He has two wives in Barcelona and sixteen children in various parts of the world (or is it the opposite?).  Mark appeared in Fantoccini

Ian Kearns Ian's personal score as Alan in Peter Schaffer's 'Equus" at the 1987 Edinburgh fringe festival, impressed Makki so much he decided to offer him the part of Pulcinello. Bliss or damnation? Who knows?  Ian appeared in Fantoccini

Pat Brackensbury Pat trained as a teacher and even became Head of Drama at a comprehensive school in Yorkshire, a very heady appointment. A determined young lady, she vowed to change the old adage "Those who cannot act..." upside down, escaped from school, became a professional actress and exhausted many of the finest repertory companies in England with her... insistence.  Sh e appeared in Fantoccini  

Helen Pavli Helen was born in a fish and chips shop in Hull during the cod war from an English mother and a Greek father, to whom she owes her exceptionally good looks and her love for this country. Her first major part was in a musical adaptation for "Some like it hot..." where she played a Fried Potato!!!  Sh e appeared in Fantoccini

Louise Hagen Louise was actually born in a trunk in Bristol and was nearly shipped as goods to America, saved just in time by a shore man. When she grew up she packed her trunk and went to Drama School in London. Now imagine her surprise when, after being invited to come to Greece and after exchanging her trunk for two suitcases, she was asked to perform in a trunk!  Sh e appeared in Fantoccini

Isobel Tovey  was born in the Forest of Dean. She has been living in Greece since 1993 teaching English and learning Greek. Jane Eyre was her first major part on the stage but her grandmother was an actress so obviously talent runs in the family. Sh e appeared in Jane Eyre , Pygmalion,   Great Expectations and The Dragon and the Crocodile

Cathy O'Donnell did three and a half years in Deree Drama Club, has created several parts for the Players and the Little Theatre.   Sh e appeared in Fantoccini and Pygmalion

 

Anne-Marie Norman studied drama before taking a degree in Theatre Arts. She has been in Athens for four years working for the Athens international Radio and doing voice-overs. She loves Greece and hopes, some day, to become an honorary Greek.  Sh e appeared in Jane Eyre.

 

Liza Armour-Brown has been in Athens for three months but intends to stay for as long as the Fates allow. Her secret desire to set up the perfect kitchen -she is a cook by profession - has led her for some obscure reason to join the Rainbow Theatre.  Sh e appeared in Jane Eyre.

Vasia Kourou was a member of the Orestiada Theatre Workshop. She is currently attending the Kostas Kazakos Drama School. Sh e appeared in Fantoccini, Pygmalion, Great Expectations, The Dragon and the Crocodile, Alice in Wonderland and Tales from Shakespeare

Dimitris Siountris,  who is an EFL author and publisher is also the Academic Assistant at the HAU so he did not have to go very far for rehearsals. He lives in Athens with his wife and two children. He appeared in Jane Eyre.

 

Mike Harling who has a B.Sc. in Politics and Law has been living in Greece for the last two years. This is his first major acting commitment but he has worked with Group 64 which is based in Putney, West London.   He appeared in Jane Eyre.

Zara Williams was born in New York. She has an MA in Theatre and has taken acting classes at the French Institute in Athens. Sh e appeared in    Fantoccini, Jane Eyre, Pygmalion, Wuthering Heights and Tales from Shakespeare

Anthi Avgerinakou has studied philosophy at the University of Athens and is currently teaching English. She has always been interested in theatre and this is her first role. Sh e appeared in Pygmalion

John Goodman aka Fudge Goodman has lived and worked in Athens for the last five years. He teaches English and is the film reviewer of the Hellenic Times. His theatre experience includes acting and producing his own play A trial for all of us in the London stage. H e appeared in   Jane Eyre, Pygmalion, and Great Expectations

Joe Eichmann is a native of Denver, Colorado. He holds a degree in English and German. He teaches English and has found himself acting in the Rainbow Theatre (for some unknown reason!!!). H e appeared in Pygmalion

Raymond Wong is Cornish-Chinese. He has a degree in Construction Management and a SWAF Certificate in TEFL. He has been teaching English but an acting career is opening before him now. H e appeared in Pygmalion

Kerry Jacobs is seen and heard practically every day on some radio, TV or home audio programme, though he is so discreet you wouldn't know it. He has taught English, directed and played in various language plays since 1982 when he first came to Greece from North London (yes, a real Cockney!). He is married and has two sons: Jonathan and Daniel. H e appeared in  Pygmalion and Great Expectations

Janet Chronopoulou comes from Australia. She started late with the Rainbow Theatre but now she's a regular. She also helped with the costumes and she is an expert designer and seamstress. She appeared in Pygmalion

Mercia Zographou studied drama at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and also holds a Licentiate Teacher's diploma in speech and Drama from Trinity College, London. She has been living in Greece for the past two years teaching English. She is a newcomer to Rainbow but she has been thrown at the deep end.  She appeared in Great Expectations

Val Scarvounis has been living in Greece for the past seven years teaching English. Although a newcomer to the Rainbow she has gained acting experience with other companies playing the narrator in Thorton Wilder's "Our Town" and a part in "Olwen of Hearts". She appeared in Great Expectations , The Dragon and the Crocodile and Tales from Shakespeare

Maria Tsalta was born in Canada but she went to drama school in Athens. She acts, sings, dances, plays the guitar and is an expert in martial arts. She has appeared on stage, TV and the cinema, the last time in "The Gods of Olympus" with Oliver Reed. She appeared in Great Expectations The Dragon and the Crocodile, Alice in Wonderland, and Wuthering Heights

Richard May lives in Athens and teaches English Literature. He was in several reviews, pantomimes and Shakespearean dramas at University. A member of the Solent Dramatic Group and the Atheneum Players he played Bottom, Iago, Widow Twanky and Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest. He appeared in Great Expectations and The Dragon and the Crocodile

Jonathan Jacobs is fourteen years old and this is his first stage experience. He has taken to it well because he is the son of talented actor Kerry Jacobs.  He appeared in   Great Expectations

Joanna Gerokonstanti  Born in Athens, she has studied ballet, drama and English from an early age. She has graduated from the Arts Theatre Karolos Koon Drama School and her future is as bright as her eyes. She says she likes a good laugh and she is afraid of... crocodiles!   Sh e appeared in The Dragon and the Crocodile

Manos Koutsoukos been acting and teaching professionally for quite a few years and this was a great opportunity for him to combine teaching and acting. He says he  enjoyed the experience tremndously.  He appeared in The Dragon and the Crocodile, Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights and Tales from Shakespeare

Michael Bakalis was only 13 years old; this is his first major, professional engagement but he is already a talented actor, singer, guitar player and skateboard enthusiast. He li ves in Agia Paraskevi with his parents who own a language school. He appeared in  The Dragon and the Crocodile

 

Chris Harris  Actor, director, writer, trained at the Rose Bruford College; with Leqoc in Paris; Fialka in Prague and for a short time with the Moscow State Circus. With Assistance from the British Council he has directed National Theatre companies in Namibia, Turkey, Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong. As an actor his world famous one man shows including "Kemp's Jig" have been seen in 55 countries. He has worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company and yearly co-writes and stars in the Pantomime (a strange English tradition!) for the Bristol Old Vie Company. His interests in Punch and Judy fulfilled when he wrote his one-man show"That's the Way to Do It" for BBC TV. This was consequently seen by H.M. the Queen on her birthday as a stage show. This is his second visit to Greece the first as a tourist to Rhodes.  He appeared in The Dragon and the Crocodile

James Cassaras (our Jimmy) was born and raised in the States. He spends more time on the golf course than honing his thespian skills. He has been saying he's 35 years old for the last five years but aged more than ten during the rehearsals for this play. He has appeared in Dario Fo's Can't pay won't pay. He appeared in Wuthering Heights

Jason Mathew Hare was born in England and though relatively young, he intends to retire from the stage on the principle that 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks', and return to the more lucrative shipping industry. He is coy about his appearances but he is often recognised in the street or the golf course.  He appeared in Wuthering Heights

Arion Pineau was born in France but lives and works extensively in Greece. He is a talented performer, singer, dancer and juggler with a long list of credits to his name. This is his first appearance with the Rainbow Theatre and his first play in English.  He appeared in Wuthering Heights

 

Nikos Kondos is shy that's why we do not have a photo of him. He has been our resident musician and has composed special music for Rainbow's productions.  He appeared in JJane Eyre, Great Expectations, The Dragon and the Crocodile, Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights and Tales from Shakespeare

 

Argiris Akrivos   appeared in J The Dragon and the Crocodile,  and Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights

Kim O'Neill is the power behind Makki's throne. She is a talented actress - singer - dancer and has collaborated with him in writing and staging a number of musicals for language schools. She has designed the costumes and made the hats for several productions. She teaches line dancing in her spare time and if you don't know what that is you better ring her and find out. You'll be dancing for joy! Kim appeared in   Fantoccini, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, Pygmalion, Great Expectations, The Dragon and the Crocodile, Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights   and Tales from Shakespeare

Makki Marseilles is the founder and artistic director of the Rainbow Theatre which aims to bring quality theatre to the English-speaking Greek community. Makki appeared in Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, Pygmalion, Great Expectations, The Dragon and the Crocodile, Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights , Tales from Shakespeare, Animal Farm and Treasure Island.

 

Ekavi Douma   An accomplished actress and singer she has appeared in many plays on stage, film, TV and even opera. This is her first English-speaking and her first male role but without a doubt it will not be the last. She appeared in Treasure Island.

 

Panagiotis Athinaios    He too has appeared in opera and on TV. With his good looks his stature and the excellent quality of his voice it will not be long before he attracts the talent scouts. He likes to paint in his spare time and we don't know whether the stage or art will claim him ultimately. Panagiotis appeared in Treasure Island.

 

Nic Milner  has devoted far too much time on business but he returns to  the stage as often as he can because he is unable to resist the call of the theatre. His ambition is to become a star and with his looks (and his talent) it will not be long before he succeeds. Nick appeared in Treasure Island.

 

Vincent Alvez  He spends most of his free time writing because his ambition is  to become a playwright but he is not doing badly at all as an  actor, particularly in tough parts. He appeared in  Treasure Island.

 

Stathis Langadas  is still at drama school but he also appears in "A Clown for You" with the Kar-Kon company. He has many appearance to his credit but he spends his free time perfecting his technique on his shadow-theatre Karagiozis Stathis appeared in Treasure Island.
