Whenever Marshall is making a business deal, Tyler is the guy Marshall turns to. Tyler is Marshall's link to the seniors, ensuring Marshall's products get the publicity that they need. Tyler though is usually found manipulating Marshall along their business ventures.
Later, Tyler becomes aware of the wormhole and actually makes a voyage through it. This knowledge makes him cocky and the Science Club uneasy. He is awarded an internship to the Avenir Institute for the rest of the semester which takes him away from Blake Holsey High. While this seems to be a good thing, the Science Club can no longer monitor his actions if Tyler is no longer attending the school.

In the first season, Tyler is not seen.
In the second season, Tyler exploits Marshall in exchange for endorsing Marshall's products.
In the third season, Tyler gains the ability to disguise himself as other people or to blend into any background. Using this ability, Tyler learns about the wormhole and makes a trip through it. It is not known where or when he went but when he came back, he became a prime concern of the Science Club. Tyler is either really nosey or wants to be a part of a group, something which is hinted by his desire to pester the Science Club even though he no longer needs them after he knows about the wormhole and has other contacts which he frequently communicates with. After he went through the wormhole, Tyler goes into the near by forest and communicates with a contact of unknown origin. Before the Science Club is able to investigate further, Tyler apparently receives a scholarship to the Avenir Institution which is for the rest of the semester's duration. While he can no longer bother the Science Club, the Science Club is no longer able to watch him.
