HELP US TO FINANCE THE PROJECT OF
GLASSES FOR LACANDON CHILDREN

In November 1996 we began a program to acquire eye glasses for albino children in the Lacandon community of Naha. Thanks to donations obtained through the generousity of those who took the tours of Na Bolom we recieved 1,640 pesos which enabled us to buy glasses for three children.

Eye glasses by themselves are not enough to completely correct the visual defects of albinos. However, the children say that a new world has appeared before them. This has also helped them with their school work. We hope to help other albino Lacandons in the future.

In the spirit of the founders Frans Blom and Gertrude Duby, the Cultural Association Na Bolom promotes the conservancy and development of cultural and environmental values in Chiapas. Our programs depend on the generosity of individual donors. Support for Na Bolom is tax deductible both in Mexico, where donations can be sent directly to Na Bolom, and in the United States, where the Hoffman Foundation receives and forwards contributions.
