Birding Habitats



Taiwan has a huge diversity of wildlife due to its diverse habitats. If you travel from southern Taiwan to northern Taiwan, from low elevations to the highest peaks, you will be traveling through, more or less, as many different types of ecosystems as you would encounter traveling from the equator to the near arctic. Each habitat has its unique ecosystem, and so the birds found in each type of habitat are dramatically different. The most ideal birding route would cover all of theses habitats, and such a route would not only guarantee that you see most of Taiwan's endemic species, but probably most of the endemic sub-species and resident species as well.
