Aerial Roots on Branches

Aerial root buds are light brown or white bumps, 1cm ahead
of a leaf and green branch bud. The best thing to use!

Trees at nursery may have aerial root sprouts. If diameter
is 1mm, it is alive if the tip is white. If 3mm, always OK.

Moss tubes are heavy, so support branch by tieing a bamboo
pole to it. Pad branch with paper towel to avoid girdling.

Stick a long piece of tape to one side of the tube, and
have a paper towel pad where it will cover the branch.

Hold the tube up to the root bud, put a pinch of moss on
top of the branch, and pull tape down. Wrap tube in tape.

The aerial root will grow down the tube, often along the
side, where it is in clear sight.
