-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9:30p - Training Hike #2 Distance: 12 miles Elevation Change 750 feet Time of Day 1400 Temperature 90F Humidty 85 Water Consumed 100oz Weight 65lbs Time 3 hours 30 minutes Rucked from Torii Station to the Renaisance hotel and back -- much better in the way of elevation changes as there are no flat stretches. I wish there was some way I could do more than just guess however. Ran out of water in the camelback just as I was 1k from home...good timing ;) I had extra water but didn't bother to swap out that close to home. Stopped halfway to rest for @ 5 minutes and to eat a powerbar. I should have probably eaten more during the hike but... This hike was a sort of a gut check. I purposely set off in the hot sun with almost no lunch and a bit extra weight in the ruck (mostly from the added water). The weight i used is 10 pounds heavier than I ever plan to have on the PCT at any point (about 20 to 25 lbs heavier than i plan to have on average). Did OK but not great. That was to be expected really. Only one blister. Once I have the Gregory Forester it'll feel like I'm carrying a pillow
on my back...
