$150 - new MB
$50 - new chip to fit the new motherboard since I can't get a MB out here to fit my OLD chip
$50 - 128mb DDR since the MB is not backwards compatible with PC 100/133 ram
$35 - new SCSI card because the new MB doesn't like my old card
$25 - new modem that it turns out I don't need (but hey, having a spare could come in handy)
free - new power supply (cuz it was just a test model and the tech guy was super cool)
$#^@!#$^($ - hours upon hours upon ALL hours of my free time for four days spent in five different computer shops, drivign to said shops, driving BACK to said shops
%^$#%$^@!)~%&^%*%^ - hours upon hours of doing my own troubleshooting at home with parts and wires and screws all over the place. My room is still a bloody mess.

and down the road:
$150 - new digital soundcard I'm going to need to replace my old one because the new MB has no ISA slot
$150 - new soundcard I'll need for "normal" computer operations to replace the old card that did everything.
 

so anyway. there went my $400 some odd clothing allowance I'll be getting at the end of the month.

at least my computer got a leg up with a really nice MB and an extra 150mhz on the processor and...yeah...all that stuff.

damnit. I really LIKED my old soundcard. *sigh*

I jumped again on thursday. just after sunset. my damn kevlar came flying off not even two seconds into my count. fucking POS. luckily i haven't hit my head during my PLF in years. It was bound to happen. i jinxed myself by forgetting my dog tags. It landed about 100 meters from the rally point though so luckily the DZ party and first pass were able to find it for me before I even made my way in.
