12:12 AM Just got home from seeing The Brian Setzer Orchaestra in Sacramento...great show. Alien Fashion Show opened and were *great*...
Was thinking of a new pome on the way home...
Union
We met on a drawbridge
On Highway 12...
Deep in the heart of California.
It was dark, nearly morn
Hot as hell and clear as heaven.
Two meteorites embracing two more
120 mph between them...
Two tails of metal converging.
Phil Collins singing something about heaven
Our radios in perfect sync...
We breathed together for a few moments.
My veins gave roses
Her skull poetry.
We loved as two poets' gods would,
Grew cold and tired together,
Blood and brains mingling us
Into one,
As no marriage ever could.
Yeah, another first draft that will probably never get edited or re-drafted like most of my poetry...sit filed away somewhere forever...maybe not though...i think there's a few good things to be pulled outta that...
Becca called yesterday, new job is working out really good...I had an extra ticket to the tricky show so I invited her along...that's Sunday...she said she has some thing she really needs to talk about too, about Josh I think she said.
Dad gets home tommorrow from his business trip. I had some yard work done by a gardener to surprise him...he's had this big pile of scrap wood in the sideyard for a decade or so now...it was ugly and out a waste of space so I hired a guy to come haul it away, then I layed tan bark down...will maybe plant something but I wanted to get his input before rushing ahead...We're having trouble talking so I thought by doing this I could say what I needed to say without words...how much I appreciate him for starters.
Confirmed my hotel reservation for Reno Wednesday night...wahoo! Ed met an old analog taper who has Black Flag masters going back to 1978-79...a non-online taper/trader...how fuckin awesome. Hopefully I can get a few clones from his 1st gen. analog copies...
I need a new computer *badly*. OK, I'v needed a new computer *badly* ever since I got this one...now I **really* need one *badly**...the disk drive took a nose dive...came unaligned or something. I can't even check it because the wrench I need to open this thing up is in storage...arrrgggghhhhh. Looking forward to my first few free and clear months' pay so I can get myself a new setup...max out the hard drive for _at least_ 10GB and get a CDR(W?) burner and digi-eq so I can make some cool discs for friends and to let the steam off my dat decks by having CD's to play... + live tunes para el coche :) oh yeah, and a working disk drive would be nice too ;) I suppose I could get an external for this piece of shit...but I just answered my own question...not even **close** to being worth it...
$3 in wallet--I'm the poorest I've been in a while...opened a new account at Bank of America so I'll have local access to my account one I leave CA and $417 is tied up in that for now...arrggghhh. Pay day is *soon* tho so iz cool...+ tip $$$ should hopefully be good friday evening...
Check this out...Brian Setzer and Co. opened with "Dr. No" (theme song for James Bond) or...oh shoot, is the proper title "On Her Majesties Secret Service"...dang it...my two disc best of bond set is in storage...damnit, seems like everything I need is in storage...point being tho, it was **cool**. Haven't listened to my tape extensively yet...Alien Fashion Show resulted in digi-silence...have to remember not to leave the tape in the deck in sleep mode for too long becasue the tape misloads just *slightly* enough to do that...dang it...they were really good too :(
"Life sucks, get a fucking helmit..." Dennis Leary No Cure for Cancer
