NS2K:
As for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre...
I'm actually keen to see the first one again because all I really remember about it is fast forwarding a lot of it and chicken bones. The "re-inventing" was actually pretty full on (Margaret from The Movie Show was actually in the cinema and left 1/2 way through it - if she reviews it i'm going to write to S.B.S. and complain because she didn't sit through the whole thing). I have to say it's the first movie in a long time that scared me (since The Exorcist, I'd say). Not sure if that's because it was actually scary or because it was pretty gross. I don't remember the chainsaw actually being used in the 70's one (there are vague memories of a chick being chased through the woods) but it certainly got a workout here.
It's far from entertainment but gets a RATE! because it wasn't bad, just totally un-necessary, but genuinely freaky.
And any movie that kicks off with Sweet Home Alabama is fine with me.
H.P.K.:
I'm almost willing to revisit the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre to see what the fuss was. All I remember of it was being bored and fast forwarding through most of it. I'll give the preview for the new version the thumbs up though. Pretty scary.
