NS2K:
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre...
The original one, not the "re-imagining" (although I really don't know what "re-imagining" means - I think it just means selling the movie as something other than a "remake".)
Anyways, watched this on the weekend. All I remember from watching the original over 10 years ago was a girl running around screaming and chicken bones. Now, there's still a lot of running around and screaming and chicken bones but because I didn't watch the first half in fast forward I got to see a bit more than that.
Twenty-something years later I don't think it comes off as being the classic that it's regarded as but it's actually pretty good. The acting is dubious, to say the least, and for a movie that's supposed to be a gore fest of violence and chainsaws there's surprisingly little of either. Well made for a low budget movie though, and genuinely creepy and scary. My main problem with it was that the girl does scream a lot... By a lot I mean about the last 40 minutes of the movie.
All in all, much better than I remembered.
