Michael J. Schatz

|
Positions: CEO of Blackmist Entertainment, Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Writer, Editor, Composer, Visual Effects, Actor
Blackmist Entertainment was started by Michael Schatz in 2000, (even though the name came later) with a documentary about his pet bird. He later went on to make a few short films that were unedited. After learning some more and buying equipment, his first short with editing and much preparation was made- The Genesis Flood.
Michael Schatz has been interested in the movie business since the 6th grade. In the 7th grade he decided that directing was what he wanted to do most. He has been working on his passion to make movies since. He writes, produces and directs his own short films to gain the most experience he can. Working on low budgets - Michael puts hard work into his films because that is what he loves to do. He also aims to make each movie better and of higher quality than the previous one.
Michael is currently attending the University of Central Florida. He is a Cinema Studies major and Psychology minor. Even though he is not in their Film Production program he understands he doesn't need film school to make movies. Michael is devoted to his dream and hopes to make movies for the rest of his life.
