Sample Schedules |
One of the greatest advantages of homeschooling is that you can customize your day to fit your family's schedules and needs. Here is a sample of our family's schedule. We have basically three groups in our family: teenagers, young elementary school-aged, and babies/toddlers. One of the things that has worked best for us is to try to schedule the more discussion-oriented classes in the afternoon while the babies are sleeping, and do the work that is more conducive to individual study while they are awake in the morning. After many years of trying to get my teenagers to wake up and be alert in the morning, I have discovered that for us, it works better if I start their day a little later. While they are getting themselves up and awake, I am already working with the younger guys, and can usually finish their work before I have to work with the teenagers.
