  • Evening adult education Spanish Language courses, Levels I-IV completed
September-October 1999       Ameri-Span                        Antigua, Guatemala
  • Participated in 2 week intensive Spanish course, also living with a Guatemalan host family.
March-April 1993
  • In early 1993, during year abroad in Germany, visited Moscow, Russia during academic winter-break to live with Russian host family and participate in intensive immersion course in the Russian language.  Side excursions to St. Petersburg, Russia and Yalta, Ukraine.

Languages: 
Native English speaker, near-native fluency in German.  Intermediate Spanish, Intermediate Russian.  Some exposure to French. 

Computer skills:
Familiar with MS Publisher & MS Office applications including MS Word, Excel, etc.

Main Library Skills:
Familiar with AACR2, OCLC-Passport, MARC21, OCLC Bibliographic Formats & Standards, SIRSI and Millennium/iii ILS.  Familiar with LCSH & LC Classification, experience using LC Class Web, and also LC Authorities, Exposure to DDC21 in basic cataloging coursework.  Familiar with basics of Dublin Core metadata standards.  Comfortable searching electronic databases such as GPO Access, Lexis-Nexis, EBSCOhost, and Academic Search Premier.
