If you are using sacred objects, place one on each chakra.

Bring your hands into the Gassho mudra over your heart and then begin the modified Gassho technique.

Intend that the Reiki Master Symbols (if you have them), and the Power Symbol go into each palm chakra and then into your heart chakra. If you have had Karuna Reiki© training, you can visualize the Karuna Reiki© Master Symbols going into each palm and your heart chakra. If you have not had Karuna Reiki© training, use the Reiki Mental/Emotional Symbol. If you are a Level One Reiki practitioner, then intend that Reiki flow from your palm chakras to your heart and then back again.

Place your hands over each chakra and intend that you are placing a Reiki symbol into the chakra. If you have not had Karuna Reiki© training, place the Mental/Emotional Symbol into each chakra. If you have had Karuna Reiki© training, place the Karuna Reiki© Level One First Symbol into each chakra. If you are a Level One Reiki practitioner, intend that the spirit of Reiki help you in this healing work.

Intuition should be your guide. If you feel the use of other symbols or none is more appropriate, then by all means, follow your heart.

When you have completed this process, gently turn your attention to each chakra starting with the Base Chakra. Lightly focus your attention on each and open yourself to receive any information or guidance. Allow sufficient time at each chakra. Your attitude should be one of careful listening.

You may become aware of a general sensing or feeling. For example, you may feel a block in the chakra or have a sense that the chakra's energy level is low. You may also receive fairly specific thoughts. Be open to whatever comes.

Once you have completed the first cycle through all seven chakras, you may repeat the cycle or stop right there.

Don't be discouraged if you do not reach enlightenment the first time. My own experience in working with this Practice is that I required many cycles before I began to form an inkling of the lessons to be learned. And my own process is still not yet complete.

To get the most benefit from this Practice you will probably need to repeat it several times before you move on to Step Two.

Take some time to reflect on your experience. Thank your guides and any ascended teachers or masters, whom you have called on, for their help and ask them to continue to help you in this Practice.
