-12.04.02- And A Good Day To You Too!

This is day two of REO's return to greatness, I hope your having as much fun as I am. Today we have two rather decent news tidbits to look at.

Sega recently had a big pow-wow to announce some new games. First on the list was Virtua Fighter 4 Evoloution for the PS2. It mainly boasts two new characters, somewhat better graphics, and reduced load times. Supposably the difficulty has been tweaked as well. They also announced some car game or something that no one really seems to care about.

The other good news was the announcement of the outcome of Sega's 3D Ages venture (the joint project of Sega and D3, hence the incredibly original 3D Ages ... it's just spelled backwards ...) They rattled off a ton of remakes for the PS2 of older Sega titles! Here's a picture of one of the Phantasy Star titles. If it's 2 then it is a huge graphical update in that they have actual backgrounds in the battles now! The list as is follows:

  • Space Harrier
  • Fantasy Zone
  • Phantasy Star 1, 2, and 4
  • Golden Axe
  • Monaco GP
  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World
  • Gain Ground
  • Bonanza Brothers
  • Streets of Rage
  • Virtua Racing
  • Last Bronx

There will also be some titles coming the Xbox under the Cool Entertainment publisher moniker. They are old dreamcast titles rejuvenated in various ways, and are as follows:

  • Rent-A-Hero 2
  • Ill Bleed
  • Dynamite Cop 2
  • Blue Stinger: Premium Cut

Hopefully all the ones that start with "Phantasy Star" and "Streets of Rage" come to the US in a hurry, and are rather inexpensive.

In other news there's finally a name for the new Game Cube Zelda. It's official title is Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Yup, that rolls off the tongue well. I'd hoped for the Wind Whacker or the Wind Walker personally. The name alludes to the fact that Link can use his magic wand to control the wind, adding a new gimmick to his old ocarina and mask routine. Well, that's all for today.
