-12.16.02- Winter Storms Are Cool!

Who doesn't like Final Fantasy news? Well, some people don't but most await it with an eagerness only bested on christmas morning. When I say Final Fantasy news I'm talking about Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle. FF: CC is a forthcoming RPG for the Nintendo Gamecube for those living in caves and under rocks.

FF: CC's big news is that it supports up to four players at a time. Furthermore players can link up their Gameboy Advance units to utilize as a controller to view their characters stats. That might be a neat feature, but frankly I'd take the Gamecube controller over a GBA anyday. Lastly, and most interesting is the news that you have four races of characters to choose from, and the story varies depending on your choice. The four different races are as follows:

Clovert - or "Clauvert" depending on what you read, these guys are the most human looking, and are supposed to "earthy" lads and lassies.

Lilti - these are the wily little merchant types. Small size, big noise.

Selkie - or "Selky", the other human looking types, these folks are mainly self absorbed little thieves. (My personal favorite.)

Yurk - these armored bird looking guys are supposed to possess magics, and look weird...

The point of the game is supposed to be searching for the rare "Mana Water" which is used to purify crystals that are used for various tasks in the world at large. The games battles system is supposably somewhat live action, in the vein of Sqaure's Mana games. For a good overall description of the game check out this thread from the REO boards. Keep on eye out on this one, and find some friends to play too while your at it.

Speaking of Mana a remake of the original Seiken Densetsu is coming to the Gameboy Advance. The game was known as Final Fantasy Adventure when released in the US many years ago for the original Gameboy. While not a "real" Final Fantasy game it did have a very unique style of play to it. The appearance of the new game is definately a step up, and looks basically the same as the US Playstation title Legend of Mana, This is a good thing as that game boasted some of the most beautifully rendered sprites to grace the 32-bit era.

It looks like some Square fans have two big reasons to be happy in the near future, if you weren't already preoccupied awaiting Final Fantasy Tactics Advance that is...
