WEEKLY BRAINSCAN: 01/22/02

Entry 6: January 22, 2001: I'm bored so it's time for another Brainscan. Rejoice!

---------------------

I went to the Bahamas two weekends ago with my brother, sister-in-law and her brother. We went to the Nassau Island and stayed at the Breezes Resorts. It was a great time. A time I'll probably never forget. We had an all inclusive package so that meant free food and drinks, so there was really no reason to leave the resort which I didn't do more than once.

They had tons of pools, the beach and ocean itself and my personal favorite, a Hot Tub. I spent most of my nights in the hot tub after visiting their mini night club that was open until 5am. This place was usually pretty dead but I met a few ladies here and there and visited the hot tub with them and some other guys afterwards. A fun time to say the least.

---------------------

We took a plane down to the Bahamas obviously. That was my first plane ride ever so it was pretty interesting. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Of course, I mainly slept through it all but the times I was awake wasn't bad at all. My dad is a nut. He was checking on the US Airways website the arrival and departure times of our flight. So he knew when we arrived at the Bahamas even before we did probably.

So in other news, Amazon.Com has finally turned a profit for the first time in their 4 year existence. Half of that profit is from me purchasing junk off their site all the time. I want some credit Amazon!!

The Eagles are in the NFC Finals. I hope they can beat the Rams but the Rams demolished the Packers the other night. I'm kind of scared of this game but I think the Eagles can pull it out if they continue to play like they did against Tampa Bay and the Bears. Let's hope I'm watching the Eagles in the Super Bowl come February. Donovan McNabb is great. I love a running quarterback. McNabb is a successful Randal Cunningham with more skill and a better offensive line.

What is with all these stupid new dangerous type game shows? The Chamber? The Chair? What the hell? Have the networks run out of ideas? Well this is obvious if you look at their sitcom line-up. Ooh, That 70's Show is mildly successful, so let's make a show entitled That 80's Show. Brillant!! Man, what are these network execs thinking. I only watch TV anymore to watch wrestling and repeats of Seinfeld and Friends. That's it.

---------------------

A & E Biography had their Top 15 TV Comedians of All-Time on tonight. There were some noticable people missing. They had Lucille Ball as number one over Jackie Gleason who was number two. I mean come on now. Gleason should be an automatic number 1. He was hilarious in everything he did. The faces he made, the characters he portrayed. Lucy was funny, don't get me wrong. But there is no way she was funnier than Gleason. They did have Johnny Carson at number 4 I believe. At least they were smart enough to add him. Jerry Seinfeld was noticably absent and I read an article in the paper talking about how they can't believe this. Now looking at some of the names that are on this list, Gleason, Lucy, Milton Berle, Carson, Carol Burnett, Grouch Marx, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, etc., I can see why he didn't. Seinfeld is probably one of the greatest shows of all time but it's more of an ensemble cast. Seinfeld has some great stand-up but it's not the greatest. If I was going to add anybody from Seinfeld to be on this list, it would be Kramer for his slapstick type humor.

Hey Smokin'! If you are reading this, I read your rambling about BB King doing Burger King commercials. He sold out. Admit it. Ha! Actually, when I first saw the commercial during the Eagles game the other night, I remarked to the person sitting next to me that BB must have ran out of money and needed to sell out to do commercials. But I read your rambling and you made some sense. So I guess I understand. Go here to read Smokin' Steve's Rambling about the BB King commercial.

So the Royal Rumble aired this past Sunday. WHAT? I said the Royal Rumble aired this past Sunday. WHAT? I said the Royal Rumble...aw nevermind. Yes, if you were annoyed by the first part of this paragraph, join the club. Leave it to the WWF to annoy the hell out of the viewer by constantly repeating this term over and over and over and over and over, you get the picture. The only time the WHAT? works is when the audience uses it to annoy Angle. It's not even fun anymore when the audience joins in with Austin with it. Because who wants to hear Austin repeat how he's going to Wrestlemania one way or another 4 TIMES before he continues on to the next sentence. "I'm gonna go to (the town's local restaurant) and order me a burger." WHAT? "I said a burger." WHAT? "And then another burger." WHAT? "And then some french fries." WHAT? "And then a beer." WHAT? "And then another beer." WHAT? "And another beer." WHAT? "And another beer." WHAT? "And then I'm gonna go down to the (local bar)." WHAT? "I said I am gonna go down to the (local bar)." WHAT? "And I'm gonna go to the bartender and ask for a beer." WHAT? "I said a beer." WHAT? "I SAID A BEER." WHAT? "And then I'm gonna order another beer." WHAT? "and another beer..." and so on and so forth. BAH!!

So I don't know what I liked more about the Rumble. The fact that Jericho beat the Rock AGAIN! Or that Mr. Perfect returned. Woo hoo! Perfect rules. I hope he gets to fight Austin now after that chairshot Austin gave him on Raw. Jericho is still the undisputed Champ. That is good. But he won't be going to Wrestlemania. You know the WWF just don't believe in Jericho enough to put him in the main event in their biggest pay per view of the year. It's going to be Austin vs. HHH. Jericho will probably drop the belt to Austin at No Way Out in Feb. You know it's true. Don't let the WWF kid you into thinking Jericho is on an even par with Austin, HHH, Rock or Undertaker. Because he's not and the WWF will prove that time and time again. Stupid WWF. If I had my way, Jericho, Benoit, RVD and Angle would be my top guys in the WWF. Undertaker needs to retire and needs to do so quick. HHH is good, don't get me wrong but he has too much backstage influence since he's banging the boss' daughter. Austin and Rock are great on the mic but their wrestling skills lack. That's why Jericho can be such a great champion if they only let him keep the belt longer. He's got great mic presence(and if you don't agree with me after his promo against the Rock the other night, then you are stupid) and he's got above average wrestling skills. Better than anyone in the main event picture other than Angle. I hope Jericho goes to Wrestlemania. He deserves it.

Well that's it for me. Ba bye.
