Represented BITS Pilani, in ACM Inter Collegiate Programming Contest -2000, an International programmig contest held at IIT Kanpur.
First Prize winner in Intel CyberFiesta - 2001, a national level software contest held at BITS Pilani, during APOGEE 2001.
Softwares Developed:
Lin-Edit:
This
is the award winning software in Intel CyberFiesta-2001, during
APOGEE-2001, a national science festival held at BITS, Pilani.
This provides an Integrated Development Environment for the C
Programming Language in Linux providing curses (the console
screen handling routines library in Unix/Linux) based interface,
with a bundle of advanced features. |
Lin-Player:
This provides a good user interface for the MP3 song player mpg123 , bundled with Red Hat Linux 6.x or later releases, using curses library. One of the most appreciated mp3 songs players for Linux, available for free download at: http://www.oocities.org/rk_gaddipati/soft/linplayer.html |
Virtual Website:
Initiated the concept of virtual website in BITS, Pilani and developed two virtual websites, one for INTERFACE-2000, (the annual management convention held at BITS, Pilani) and the other for INTERFACE-2001. |
Virtual Chat Server:
This is a chat server/client, which uses no sockets for communication. Though this limits the scope of usage between users of the same server, this can be used even when adverse restrictions are imposed by the administrator on usage of chat. Also one added advantage with this is - it is capable of providing messenger service. |
Internet Mail Client:
This is a mail client capable of contacting multiple mail servers using SMTP and POP3 protocols and tracking multiple accounts information of the same user. |
IP Subneting Tool:
Developed an IP subneting tool which help system administrators in managing the IP address space efficiently by supporting CIDR and VLSM. This is done as a part of Computer Networks course, on an Unix platform. |
ZFTP (FTP using UDP):
Developed a protocol, the protocol header structure and implemented a ftp server and client which uses UDP as the Transport layer protocol, unlike the traditional TCP. |

Projects Completed:
Geographic Information Systems in Health Care Systems, with special reference to Directly Observed Therapy Short Course (DOTS):
The project aims at identifying the uses of GIS in various Health Care operations and explains its usage by developing a good GIS for effective implementation of DOTS, a strategy for curing Tuberculosis. Software Used: IDRISI for Windows (A GIS Package). |
Automation of Course Registration Process at BITS:
The project is to automate the entire process of students' registration into various courses, checking various pre-requisites and the slots available, section capacity and so on. This is done as a part of the course Oracle with Developer 2000 at Center for Software Development. Software Used: Oracle 8.0 and Developer-2000. |
Center for Instructional Software, BITS Pilani:
It's
a Learning Byte International's collaborative development center
at BITS Pilani. The project mainly deals with presenting the
courses online and various methodologies for evaluating the
performances and so on. |

Projects Currently Involved in:
Convergent Billing System for IP networks:
At
eSecureB2B Ltd, I am now working on development of a convergent
Billing system capable of billing customers for various services
on IP based networks. Right now we are working on VoIP billing
system with Cisco Call Manager simulation (developed by me) as
the source for CDRs. A mediation system was also developed which
converts these CDRs into standard IPDR (v2.5) formats. The entire
system (simulation/mediation/database) is developed on Red Hat
Linux 7.2. |
SIP vs H323:
Aiming at a paper presentation on the hotest topic in Multimedia over Internet - SIP vs H323, I am doing a rigorous study on the SIP protocol and H323 standard to draw the similarities and to identify the strengths of each of them and to recommend where each one of them is best suited. If possible suggest methods for interoperability of these two standards. Though a lot of material is available on the net, which in most of the cases is biased towards any one of them, my effort is to present the protocol/standard usability in various situations and thus to suggest in which case one takes over the other. |
