As I mentioned before, I am very much into aesthetics and I
needed a good place to tap the NOS nozzle on the impending
install. Plus I truly believe that the smooth, large diameter
tube between the VAF and the throttle body increases horsepower
as with my RS Akimoto intake.
My original plan was to utilize the now useless RS Akimoto tube to fill in between the VAF and throttle body. My only regret would have been that the RSA was raw aluminum colored and the Hotshot tube was polished.

As (bad) luck would have it, a friend with another '97 PGT-S wrecked his car. He also had the Hotshot cold air pipe and when he decided he was going to get rid of his car, I traded him my factory intake for his Hotshot tube. Now I had two cold air pipes....a perfect match! Now all I had to do was cut, grind, and shape the second tube into the correct curve to fit. |
It wasn't easy. The bend between the VAF and throttle body is very tight and the bends on the Hotshot tube weren't as narrow as I had hoped. It took a lot of fudging and test fitting to get it anywhere near fitting. As you can see, I had to use the yellow step-down tube to connect the tube to the throttle body. I would eventually like to replace it with a red one to match the Hotshot one, but that is the aesthetic part of me that I am talking about! | ![]() |
People at the track are always looking up and down this intake trying to find the turbo that they think is connected to it! What they don't know won't hurt them!
