Ha effettuato il primo volo il 9 Ottobre 1987 in Westland. E' stato il prototipo "basico meccanico" della versione navale dell’EH101, e cioè il banco prova in volo di tutti i sistemi meccanico-idraulici dell'elicottero, nonchè della integrazione dei motori General Electric T700 sul velivolo. Ha cessato di volare nel Luglio 1997 ed è oggi impiegato dal personale della Royal Navy come "rig" di addestramento

It was first flown on the 9th October 1987 at Westland site. It has been the "mechanical-basic" prototype of the EH101 naval variant, where all the helicopter's mechanical and hydraulic systems have been tested. It has also been used for testing the G.E. T700 engine installation on the helicopter. It stopped flying in July 1997 and it is used today as ground rig for training purposes from Royal Navy personnel.

Ha effettuato il primo volo il 26 Novembre1987 in Agusta. E' stato il secondo prototipo "basico meccanico" della versione navale dell’EH101. E' stato, in assoluto, il primo EH101 che è appontato su una Unità della Marina Militare Italiana, durante la sperimentazione che fu condotta per valutare il comportamento del velivolo in fase di appontaggio. Ha cessato di volare il 21 Gennaio 1993 in seguito ad un incidente di volo in cui questo prototipo è andato distrutto.

It has been the EH101 which landed first onboard Italian Navy ships during the activity carried out to assess the helicopter’s behaviour during deck landing operations. It stopped flying on the 21st January 1993 following an air- crash where this prototype was destroyed.
