Graphics and Animation
The graphics here is nothing like Final Fantasy 12 or Diablo 2 or CounterStrike.
There is no 3D graphics involved here, just simple 2D pixel graphics you would find in the 80s.

However, for a text-based online game of this genre, it is sure a winner.

The author of this game even make a point to create different avatar templates for each races and gender, so that players can mix or match their own character outfit.

As for animation, well sadly there is none.

Sound Effects & Background Music
Again, sadly there is no sound effects and background music for this game.

More importantly, this text-based, online game does not require any sounds or music. The reason is that it is a tick/turn-based game. That is to say, you will have a limited amount of turns to use. These turns are required to do important things in the game such as training your character, battling other players, etc. Once you have used up your turns, you will need to wait for the next reset/replenish to come.

Therefore, this game do not need any sound effects or background music because the playing time needed is too short for each reset.
User Interface
There is no hot keys or any buttons to push.
Simply click on each links that describes what you need. The links are very intuitive, such as Sector 5 Gym is for training, PC Hardware is for PC conversion, etc.

Any players who are familiar with text-based games like MUDs (Multiple User Dimension, Multiple User Dungeon, or Multiple User Dialogue) will pick up this game easily.

Implications & Social Issues
This game basically resolved players like myself who needs a quick 'get-away' from the stress we have.
Not much time is needed to play this game due to the limited 'turns' each players is entitled. Players can quickly used up all turns once they are familiar with the game within 5-10mins of playtime.

In addition, this is a mmorpg, players can interact with each other across borders and pacific within the in-game forums. Thus, widen the views and new friendship can be born.

However, EXCESSIVE of anything (food, money, television, etc) is harmful. So, play with caution and remember that there is still life outside this game :)

Conclusion
Despite the limited 'turns' and the lack of superior graphics. This game is by far one of the best text-based mmorpg around. With a vast skills and options, players can choose different gaming style to begin with.

This game is best suited for players who find rpg too time-consuming and needed something that is easy and quick to play.

Help links are available and very imformative for players who never play this type of games.

Personally I would give Newage 3 a rating 8/10.
