ACTUAL FOOTAGE

This is me, obviously getting robbed of an RBI in our first game of the year against The Stingers. That's Ian Dunbar sliding into home, and Pascal Lalonde making the tag after a throw from Nick at first. I grounded out, then Nick threw home, and the ump CALLED IAN OUT...a travesty...we could have turned the game around...but take a look for yourselves and you be the judge.

GAME PHOTOS

Uniforms are going to be a total of $62 dollars with embroidered logos and numbers on the back. In addition to this, we're trying to get hats for free from Adidas, but this might take some shmoozing from Ian Dunbar. We all have faith.

At a glance...after doing some scouting...there doesn't seem to be any particularily week teams in the Grey Division. The Cougars have solid pitching and good hitting, although their fielding is questionable. And the Big Red Machine is 0-2 to start...pretty interesting.

Seb Soucy's
Season Ends

Seb has been forced to hang up the glove and put away the pitching arm for the remainder of the season. Was it a broken hand? Emergency spleen surgery? Nope, he got called up to Sympatico in Montreal.

By Matt Cox #5

This is Seb Soucy. His brother Martin was player of the game last week. I'm sure Martin would really appreciate it if you check out the game #2 summary...and see his picture!

(AP - Ottawa) So with the absense of Seb Soucy for the remainder of the season, the team has been downsized to eleven active players, two subs, and one player taking the year off. The most obvious change in the team is going to be the increase in innings that pitchers Cox and Glazer are going to see this year.

In addition, relief pitcher Dan Robert will be seeing some more relief appearances as well, as he will be called upon more frequently.

In the meantime, what is to be done? The Rogues are in the hunt right now for a new player, but there seems to be not much to choose from. Rick Hrycak is still holding out on contract negotiations, but if The Rogues managed to sign him, they'd have to shift around the infield greatly, and that may disrupt things...so don't expect to see Hrycak in a Rogues uniform any time soon.

The other obvious possibility is to begin talks with retired Stinger centre fielder Roy McNeil, younger brother of Rob. Roy wouldn't be playing CF because of Ron Hrycak, but he'd fill in admirably in left or right, backing up Amos. As well, he's the fastest fastball player in Ontario, and would be lethal on the basepaths. But he's working and playing football and going to school all at once this summer (I Think) so Roy may be hard to snag.

There are some other miscellaneous people that The Rogues could ask, but are unsure of their experience, and desperately want to get someone on the team that can make a difference with their bat.

There is one other possibility, and that is to keep the roster at eleven active players, and give more playing time to the rest of The Rogues. This only becomes a problem if 3 players cannot make a game, and The Rogues can't field a team.

Obviously there's some things The Rogues will have to work out, but hopefully everything will come together in the next few days.

ROGUES RULE!!!
