Changeling

There are any number of e-mail lists which allow a player in our local Shining Host venue to contact other players in the Global Story, and interact around the world. These are a few of such lists, with some information.

Most of the lists below [except where noted otherwise] are hosted by the White Wolf server. To subscribe to those lists, you should use a web-browser [like the one you're using now]. Take this link and you will find the White Wolf Camarilla page. You'll need to log in with your White Wolf Camarilla Membership number (under "Already A Member?" halfway down the frame). Your new Frame will (once you've Logged In) be called "Membership Services." In small print near the bottom of this page is "The Camarilla Mailing Lists." That line [pause for drama] will let you sign up for the Mailing Lists you want!
What follows are those mailing lists, with description where appropriate:

Camarilla List
A general list for the general membership to discuss ... whatever. This list tends to have a lot of traffic.

Changeling
This list is a strictly IC forum for Changeling characters to communicate over long distances by various means, from Cantrips to just plain e-mail. Under no circumstances does this means that Character A may cause Character B harm because they believe they are in the same space using Flickerflash, for example, for such is not the case. This is a communication forum only, and actual events must either be role-played in the typical style and setting, or done on a sanctioned IRC channel in the presence of a qualified ST.

Changeling-OOC
This list is a strictly OOC forum for Changeling players to discuss things out of character. Done with all of the OOC posts on the IC lists? Want better communication with other players? Need to find that guy you met 6 years ago with long brown hair wearing funny clothes? Want player info for your website? Here is the place to ask!

Changeling-ST
This list is for discussion by Changeling STs (if you're not an ST for the Camarilla Changeling venue, you can't get on the list). Useful ST resource to share questions and ideas on rules, rulings, and plots (which is why you don't want to sign on anyway).

Kith Lists.
There are lists for most of the kith, where each gathers beneath the moonlight or the sun to discuss those issues pertinent only to their own. Not all of these lists have information available; thos that do have had it included.
boggan
clurichaun
IC, this list is a forum for Clurichaun characters to communicate over long distances by various means, from Cantrips and Companions to just plain e-mail or hand delivered missives. OOC, this list is used by the players of Clurichaun characters to hold discussions on matters pertaining to the character type they play.
eshu
Hello & Welcome to The Eshu Kith's Connection to the Dreaming: Welcome to the Campfire!
The Eshu List is one of the most powerful, and magical ways that the Wandering Kithain share tales of daring and adventure, of sadness and betrayal, of love lost and gained. It is here that the deeds of Nobles and Commoners are spread from bonfire to bonfire and from tale-spinner to storyteller all across the dreaming. From the Western Marches to the Emerald Isle, your stories await to be told. You are the weavers of the dreaming itself, Eshu brothers sing out to each other and unite under the banner of Glamour.

goblin
nocker
This is a strictly In-Character list. Any Out of Character problems with rulings or so forth should be sent to the appropriate, non-IC lists. This list is for IC interaction only. It's just that simple.
And, of course, cursing is allowed, although creative new curses are prefered.
As for information gained on this list; all interactions are considered to be IC by default. Any information your character gains is valid, but your local storyteller is the final say as to what info you learn and retain from it. For example, if Bobby Changeling with 5 Kindred Lore comes on and posts the entirity of White Wolf's Vampire books, your storyteller will probably not allow you to go around talking about How Tremere Diablerized Saulot and about How Cappadocians Became Samedi or the like. The ST may allow you to buy lore in the area, or he may even grant it to you, but you can't just assume you understand it all. Sorry.

satyr
Satyrs have long been the bane and the blessing of both Fae and Mortals. Who else can inspire (and inflame) like they can? Who else has treasured (and used) the mortals more then they? Who else have been the basis (or instigators) of more rumors in Court then they?
Sometimes the Gift of Pan is strong and can be used by Satyrs for communication to one another. This is such the case with this list. When the Gift is used in this fashion, one Satyr can communicate to his brothers and sisters. The message is carried by the dreaming to one another. Thus, Satyrs in the know, can find out the latest rumors, party invitations and innuendos from one to another. Join the list and join the revels!!!
Please, no excessive quoting, we do not need to reiterate every single detail like the Sidhe. No excessive foul languauge, we aren't Nockers after all. Now I know we can get quite "emotionally and colorful" in our use of the language, but keep it in moderation. Lastly, no spamming please, it only helps further Banality's approach.
sidhe
Welcome to sidhe, a realm of beauty and nobility amidst the cathode rays . .
And now, the rules!
1) The Sidhe list is for discussion on Sidhe. There should be limited OOC posts on Sidhe. This isn't to say the occasional comment isn't welcomed, but kept to a minimal to maintain the flavor of the server.
2) At the end of EVERY POST, include your full name and Camarilla membership number. If you do not have a number yet, include the word "pending" instead.
3) Do not post a message with more quoted text than original. Everyone already saw the message to which you're responding; just quote enough so that people know what you're talking about.
4) Keep your signature to six lines or under.
5) Do Not Spam. Any commercial e-mail, advertising, or schemes to MAKE MONEY FAST will not be tolerated, and your Postmaster will probably be informed. This rule is taken very seriously; any violation will result in immediate unsubscription.
6) If I receive bounce mail more than three times I will unsubscribe you, until you figure out what is wrong with your email. I will give adequate notice in the serve of bounced mail. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line.
That about does it .... the Dreaming, and the throne of glory, awaits!

The only addenda to this are the Canadian Mailing List service, and the local e-mail list for the Halifax Shining Host venue. Canada-only lists are not hosted by the White Wolf server, but rather are found at a different URL: www.camarilla.ca/sympa. There you can log in and sign up, for both In Character and Out Of Character "Changeling" lists.

This list is the local in- and out-of-character mailing list for the Free Commots of Shining Waters (the Camarilla Chapter that hosts this site). To subscribe contact Andrew Aulenback, one of the list Moderators.

Here's a general guide to internet and e-mail list etiquette, by Andrew Heckts:

Ettiquette

It is never wrong to have a different opinion or to express it.
Remember the major rules of debate: You're arguing an opinion, not each other. When people address the issue, and not the poster, then discussion can occur.
[The job of the] moderator is to calm down (note, not stop) discussion, but people must do the following.
1) Address the issue, not the issuer.
2) Addressing a particular person in a post highly charges the issue and puts people on the defensive.
3) Be willing to accept that other people have different opinions.
4) No one can change your mind, but you.
5) Email is a poor means of communication. There is no body language, smiles, or any other indication of delivery.
6) Stick to the subject.
7) Accept that you may be incorrect. Be courageous enough to admit it.
8) When nothing seems worth reading on the list, come up with a topic that is.
9) Never respond to a personal attack.
10) Watch your language. If you find you must answer a post - have someone else read it over and think on it before hitting send. There are no Oops! in this type of medium.
11) *new* Discussion can only occur when both sides acknowledge the others arguements and their validity.
12) When responding to a post, make sure to quote only what is required. Please don't quote an entire three-page post when you're only responding to one paragraph.
13) Don't make "me too" posts. If you don't have anything to add to the discussion, please don't clutter the list with messages that don't add anything.
14) If you want to share a graphic, post the image to a website and direct everyone there. If you don't have access to a website, you can ask others to e-mail you directly and send the file out like that.
Remember that everyone on the list comes from a different background. We have engineers, lawyers, college students, and high school-age members who post on a variety of topics.
Please respect that their opinion might be different from yours and move on if you can't seem to agree.
Remember, its a game. Games are for having fun.
