Even Better then a WWE PPV. Best Fight. Achilles Vs. Hector, 'Troy'. No wire-work, no lightsabers, no Wu-Shu combined with boxing and Kaporia. Just the two finest fighters of their time squaring off to the death. One fighting out of vengence and fury, the other one hoping to save his home. Was the movie perfect? Heck no, but this brawl was outstanding.
You a Baaaaaaaaad Man! Best Villain; Agamemnon, 'Troy'. Let's see... Doctor Octopus was conflicted. Syndrome was whacky, but in a funny, silly way. Dracula... ya know, I barely remember 'Van Helsing'. You get the idea. Sure, we had villains this year, but where is the Villain! The one character you could boo, hiss, throw popcorn at, and really HATE! Ah, there was Agamemnon who didn't care about honor, courage, or anything... just about getting that piece of turf the city was built on. He was GLEEFULLY evil, which made it all the more fun to see him taken down.
We All Need a Little Help. Best supporting character; Edna Mode, 'The Incredibles'. Armani and Q all rolled up in one, and a HYSTERICAL accent and hair-cut to match.
Crash and Burn. Movie that was shot down in flames. 'Thunderbrids'. No, I'm NOT going with 'Catwoman'. Too easy, and it actually was seen by people, at the very least out of curiosity... and to see Halle Berry with a whip. Ok fans, get the mop and bucket and clean up the drool. Ah, but 'Thunderbirds'.... oy! It barely lasted a week before being shoved into the dollar theater circuit. Even promotionals for the movie... well, were there ANY promotions for it? The reviews weren't that bad, really, but this homage to the classic '60s show got buried beneath the summer block-busters.
At the Top of the DVD List; Best movie; 'The Incredibles'. 'Closer' has snappier dialog. 'The Aviator' would make Cecile DeMille swoon with the visuals, and 'Dodge Ball' 'is just plain hysterical. However, 'The Incredibles' has an outstanding combination of all that. Warm and fuzzy moments, hysterical moment, conflicted moments... all and more you could ask from a movie.
