Toy Hype; 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Optimus Prime Just when you think it's safe to put your credit card away, something has to come over the horizon. In this case, juuuuust in time for the holidays, Takara announces ANOTHER incredible piece of Transformers work; Optimus Prime. Ok, ok, so you've already got the ORIGINAL G-1 Prime, AND the recent re-issue, AND you've got just about every other one that's been put out, even Star Convoy. Well, the reason you want this one is this is as close as the ultimate Prime as you can get; die-cast metal, lots of articulation and accessories, and it transforms. Yes, stop blinking, DIE-CAST METAL and ARTICULATION. Think chogokin with Kaiyodo articulation. Makes your mouth just water, don't it? Oh, and don't forget the accessories; Prime's rifle, his energy-axe from the 'toon, even the Matrix of Leadership is going to be recreated. However, this is one MAJOR gripe for me; where the heck is his trailer? Granted, the trailer was never really used in the 'toon, which always annoyed me, but not having the trailer for this piece just... well, it's not quite right. Fine, so this isn't the ULTIMATE Prime piece. Hey, considering how much this figure does come with, and the $99 price-point, this is as good as it gets. |
