Hype Alert; Finally, a COOL Armada Piece- Tidal-Wave No, I'm NOT talking about Unicron. Yes, Unicron does look cool, but I was never a huge fan of having it made into a figure. So what is Tidal-Wave? Well, prototypes have slowly crept on to the 'Net and I imagine Hasbro has something very sweet planned for the Toy Fair. Tidal-Wave is the first combiner for Armada, three ships that combine into a robot as large as Prime in Super-mode and a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge vehicle mode that looks like the SDF-1 on acid. That enough to start you drooling? Hey, it's a MERGER! Hey, how can you have a line of giant robots without a combiner? The three ships are an aircraft carrier, a battleship, and one last thing that could be a catamaran, a hover-craft, or a sub. No one's sure at this point. Anyway, all three merge into a super robot and super boat form that are huge. Oh, and there's one more VERY cool mode... the pieces become armor which attaches to Megatron. Shots of the prototype show the three ships have connectors which would allow you to stick all of this MASSIVE honking stuff on to Megatron, and make him a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, with the firepower to take on Optimus in Super Robot mode. So not only do you have this massive 'bot kicking Autobot bumpers, but you also have the capability to take the baddest Decepticon and make him even badder! Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh. Many e-tailers are taking pre-orders for this monster for a late spring/early summer release. Hopefully, all of this bodes very well for Armada, and gives us the butt-kicking piece we've all been craving. |
