Oh, be warned there is a goofy gimmick with a special 'key' that activates special functions in the two giant cannons.  It's ok, not as annoying as the entire silliness with 'Armada' fortunately.

Of course there has to be a gripe, but it's NOT due to the figure.  It's the directions.  In the original Japanese release Prime in super-robot mode had the wings on the backpack pointing UP and the guns under the arms.  In the US release this is reversed.  If you get this, PLEASE look at any fan-sites showing the Japanese way of doing it.  It looks and works better.   Trust me.

Home factor?  If you're a Trans-fan, you're always wondering what the next gimmick will be.  Sometimes, like 'Armada', the silence speaks volumes.  So in the last two lines, rather then make a silly gimmick the big push, Hasbro/Takara focused on making very, very, very cool figures and having the gimmick just be a little extra.  Keeping in line with the likes of ToyBiz, Kaiyodo, Bandai, and Todd Toys Takara/Hasbro realized people want toys that look GOOD.  The gimmicks are just a small part that shouldn't get in the way of a great figure.

The final product is an amazing piece of work.  All transformations are a load to see and change in to and the final figure in the super-robot mode is amazing.  So what's left?  Well... word is Primus is one the way... think Unicron accept he's a good guy.  Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
