Description; the mighty king of the Numenorean's is brought to life.

King Elendil is 6" tall and decked in the ornate plate-mail armor and robe he wore during the prologue of 'Fellowship of the Ring'.  The piece has a ton o' articulation from the neck down to the ankles.

The figure comes with a removable crown, sword-slashing action, and Anduril which can be sheathed in a scabard attached to Elendil's side.

'Ellen who?'  Elen-DIL!  Ok, ok, remember when Sauron kicked some SERIOUS butt with his mace?  And one dude got creamed and slammed into the mountainside, and Isildur... ah, NOW your remember!  The wielder of Narsil!  Aragorn's great-to-the-umpteenth-power grandfather!  All right, so why bother to make a figure for someone who has even less screen-time then Dengar in 'The Empire Strikes Back'?  You create an Elendil fig because he really DOES matter to 'Lord of the Rings'.  Elendil lead the Numenoreans against the forces of Mordor.  He was also an ally of Gil-galad, King of the Elves.  So what kind of figure do you get for 15 seconds of fighting and then getting body-slammed?  Actually, it's pretty dang good.

Meat and potatoes... ok, why do I bother always writing this when y'all know how good ToyBiz is?  It's to point out what is just so freaking amazing on these figures, and each figure seems to accentuate something unique.  As usual, you have the bagillion points of articulation and sculpting that rocks, blah, blah, blah.  Ah, but this time, it's the paint-job that is outstanding as well.  On most figures the way armor looks old is to mute the colors; nothing super shiny.  Instead, on this one, the figure's armor is also splashed with black paint so everything looks tarnished, dented, and really does look like Elendil has been to war for years!

There is one small problem, which might be individual to my figure.  The cape is attached to Elendil's breastplate on the left side, but not attached on the right side.  I've tried to put dabs of super-glue to re-attach it, but no luck.  I'm beginning to wonder if this is intentional since the sword-slashing action is on the right side, and the massive shoulder-armor, which is attached to the cape, might get in the way.  To help keep things loose, the cape was left detached on that side.  It's not a huge problem, but it's a detail that distracts from the over-all beauty of the figure.

The perks are good.  Naturally Narsil comes with a sheath, and the sculpting on the piece is just right so Elendil can hold the sword in both hands.  Elendil also comes with a sword-slashing action and a removable helmet.

Homer factor?  Hmmmmmmmmmmm... personally very high, because I have a ton o' Elves on my shelf, but the humans are getting outnumbered.

In the end, ToyBiz has created another winner for it's 'LOTR' line.  Is Elendil a 'minor' character?  Sure, but that doesn't change the fact ToyBiz created an awesome figure to face the forces of Mordor on your shelf.  Woohoo!
