Batman - Micro Action Series, MA-07, Takara
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Facor; 5.0
Description; Batman gets the Micronauts, er, um, MICRO-MAN treatment.

The figure is 3" tall and is in the current, blue and gray, costume.  The figure has oodles and oodles and OODLES of articulation, allowing the piece to go through a ton o' fighting poses.

The figure comes with a ton o' weapons and replacment hands, a special holder for the hands, and a clear plastic stand.  Wow!
Ah, Batman figures... so often so close, but not quite what we want.  Sure, it's got a great sculpt, but it's stiff as a board.  Ah, you've got articulation, but there are no accessories.  Doh!  Granted, there is no such thing as a perfect figure, but considering what ToyBiz has done with their Marvel Legends and 'Lord of the Rings' figures, the expectations are pretty high as to what you can expect.  The newest wave of Batman figures don't suck, but it feels like they're sooooooo close to being REALLY good... come on!

Well, along came the new license agreement DC has for it's characters, and a surprise player appeared; Takara.  Yeah, Micro-Man and Transformers Takara!  What would they know about re-creating the Dark Knight?  From what they created, quite a bit...

The meat and potatoes on this piece are reeeeeeeeeally good.  Ok, first, the sculpting isn't the usual, muscle-rippling, scowl-reproducing detail you normally get.  However, considering this figure is 4" tall, what do you want?  The sculpt over-all does a good job of capturing the grim visage of Batman.   The articulation though... daaaaaang!  27 points, fans.  Yep, I said TWENTY-SEVEN.  You thought Bruce Lee could kick serious marital-arts butt?  Double elbow and knee joints, ankles, wrists, pair of joints in the torso... wow!  The end result is a figure that has all the posing options I've wanted to see in Batman; numerous offensive and defensive stances, and the ability to kick another figures head off.  That's pretty cool stuff.

Ok, one bit of bad news... this thing is 4" tall.  Which means every 'Star Wars' figure you have is going to get a serious whupping, but the other figures are going to be looming over this guy... not that that would bother Batman.

Perks are off the hook.  Remember, these guys do Micro-Man, so this figure comes with a LOT of stuff; grappling gun, re-breather, Batarang, cuffs, 10 extra hands and a VERY neat organizer to keep the hands together, and a miniature stand.  Wow!

Homer Factor is waaaaaaaaaaaay high.  Like I said, it's not that the Batman figures made are horrible, but I've always been searching for THE figure; loaded with extras,  articulated, looks cool, how hard can that be?

And after waiting, it's finally here.  Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!  Now if only there was a Joker figure...
