Batman Samurai Armor MA-20; Microman Micro Action Series, Takara Meat and Potatoes; 5.0 Perks; 5.0 Homer Factor; 5.0 |
||||||||
Description; ‘The Last Samurai’ meets The Dark Knight. Samurai armor Batman is approximately 3” tall and has the usual plethora of articulation seen in the Micro Man line. This time Batman is also clad in silver armor with a bat-motif. The armor is a weird combination of samurai-style armor and plate-mail. The armor is removable. The figure also comes with two katana with usable sheaths and a removable cape. |

I am still wondering where this figure came from. The last samurai-style story I recall with Batman was 'The Shogun of Steel’... but that’s another story entirely. So where did this thing come from? Oh who cares! Besides, if Mattel can come up with a chain-wielding Batman figure to fight Killer Croc (Not kidding... and keep your mind out of the gutter!) then samurai armor isn’t that much of a stretch!
Naturally the question is whether it’s good! Heck yeah! Meat and potatoes are typical Microman; small but amazing. 30 points of articulation folks. This figure is 3” tall and it STILL has that many joints! Wow! Unless you’re Jet Li, you can’t do more fighting stances then this thing. Ah, but does it LOOK good? Oh yes! The tiny piece has outstanding sculpting with lots of detail. A great example is the layers of ‘bats’ sculpted in the codpiece of the armor. (The piece over the crotch for the weapons impaired.) The entire amour has that kind of detail. Perks? Like other Micro Man pieces, there are a ton! The armor is entirely removable. And like the other Micro Man figures the piece comes with 12 interchangeable hands. Naturally three are two samurai swords with scabbards that attach to the hips of he figure. Cool! The only disappointing thing is the cap. It’s removable, but not very large and is this nasty gray color. Granted, black is a bit of a cliche, but this... ewe. Homer factor? Batman + Samurai armor + Micro Man workmanship = drooling! All in all, this is a great figure to have. Ok, ok, so this hasn’t appeared in any comics or whatever. Still, at least for an ‘Elseworlds’ type piece it’s very well done. Hmmmmmm... I wonder what the Joker would look like in ninja attire.... |
